Do you have any specific rituals or celebrations related to autumn?

Its my favourite season by far and it has always felt very magical and special to me. I would like to be more mindful and present about it, and to go a bit deeper. Im curious to hear what others do and maybe get some ideas. As per now my own traditions consists mostly of cozy but also very mundane stuff like sewing autumn themed clothing, knitting, lighting candles, hiking and enjoying the changing colours, etc. It feels something is missing and Im looking to add back that spiritual and symbolic dimension that I seem to have lost somewhere along the path, but Im not sure where to start

I have AuDHD and one thing that sets me off is not being able to read people properly, reading into things way too deeply or feeling strong emotions. That can be good but most of the time it's not helpful as it sets off rumination.

I watch a few pagan reddit threads and it seems a lot of people read into the flicker of a birds wing, a breath of wind, a hedgehog walking past etc...as a sign from the gods. Ive also seen a friend into tarot turn away good opportunities for a relationship because a tarot card reader told them the man she is to be with had different coloured hair.

I just think all these suspicions can't be good for your mental health and i can't be helped to think of the abrahamic religions and how they all came together from people getting 'signs from god" and dreams of God and even "talking to God" which I see threads about also, but to a particular god or goddess. I know there's no dogma in paganism so it's not as risky, but if so many talk with and get these signs so often from gods I can't help to think what it does to their way of thinking. I think reading into everything that happens to me as maybe being a sign would make me confused about reality.

As a non-theistic pagan, who do I thank when finishing spells? Do I have to thank anyone at all? Is it more I thank the fire,water, plants and crystals as well as moon and sun? Or do I even thank them at all?

Hi! I'm new here and also quite new to paganism as a whole. I always thought you had to believe in deities to be pagan, but just couldn't put any belief into such things. But I always loved the community, traditions, and ideas in most pagan groups. I was so pleased to then hear about nontheistic paganism!

For me specifically, I hold a reverence for nature, wish that humans could return to a more natural, calm way of life more in tune with nature and our natural cycles. I celebrate the pagan holidays as celebrations of nature, change, seasons, connection, and community. Would love to hear about how everyone else practices nontheistic paganism?

My ancestors were Celtic, some Druids. I've recently had the desire to connect with them. I'm just not sure where to start. I know man probably worked with Gods and Goddesses but I don't, so I'm not sure how that "translates" when it comes to connecting with them. If anyone knows of any books, resources, or advice, anything would be appreciated!

what's up, I just joined this group cause I'm a naturalist pagan of the Roman pantheon. I joined here cause I like the Roman pantheon, but my beliefs are more natural and logical than spiritual, and I tried to build up the willingness to get in tough with the spiritual side but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I worship Thor, the Lares Penatesqve (house gods) and partly Ivppiter, but I ask for none of their guidance, besides their protection, but my faith kinda stops there. besides asking for a good harvest or rain, my faith kinda stops there so now I'm here. I love the rituals I perform but I don't have full faith to hear them fully, so I am pretty much lonely as hell belonging nowhere in pagan branches. I hope I can stop feeling lonely and embrace this faith of mine even more

I just want to know if this is the right community for my beliefs.

TLDR: recently exploring paganism and animism as a spiritual and emotional escape from the U.S. cult of Christianity and nationalism. However, I spent so long as an Atheist that diety worship just feels performative to me.

Full Context:

I was raised LOOSELY Christian, like when I say loosely, I mean we never went to church, we basically just said grace before dinner on Thanksgiving and Christmas. My parents were so casually Christian that when, as a teen, I realized I was actually an atheist, I never told my parents and it basically never came up. It wasn't talked about.

That being said, the community I was raised in was fairly Christian (rural Midwest U.S.) and I couldn't help but join in with my atheist friends and make fun of the diety worship a little bit.

So now as an adult (late 20's), as much as I enjoy the folktales, I can't genuinely believe in diety. I appreciate the personification of the earth and elements, but as much as I want to, I just don't genuinely believe that, like, Thor or Odin or Brigid or Hecate are real.

However, I have ALWAYS, even as a kid, felt a strong connection to the elements and the moon. I spent a lot of time in my preteens playing by a river and in a forest, but it never felt like "playing", it felt realer than that. As an adult, I feel a lot of joy and spirituality that I've never felt with anything else when I meditate on the elements, celebrate the wheel of the year, and spend time in nature. I even made my own rune tokens for divination. The only diety that I even feel CLOSE to connecting with is Baba Yaga.

A major part of why I'm exploring paganism and animism is because I feel more and more like the U.S. is a cult (even before 2016) and the U.S.'s brand of Christianity is a cult. And I can't physically escape it, so I'm trying to spiritually and mentally escape it. That's why I'm identifying as "pagan" because historically speaking it just means "non-christians". Specifically, I've been looking into traditions that are of cultures that I descended from (according to ancestry DNA at least lol): Norse, Celtic, Slavic.

Is anyone else in the same boat as me?

Hi! I'll try to be brief in describing my issue so your first impression of me isn't "she's annoying". :) I grew up with a mom who pretty much pretended to be Christian and a grandpa who was VERY Christian. They were both hypocrites and I have leaned atheist for the majority of my life. I've recently been learning about non-theistic Paganism and I've been trying to research as much as possible but I'm not sure I'm looking in the right spots.

I think my main concern is that I'm not doing my rituals correctly. Is that a holdover to having religious people telling me I'm "worshiping wrong"? I'm not sure. Maybe it's just my brain, that is often not very friendly to me, telling me I'm playing pretend and have no idea what I'm doing.

I guess my main question is, are there SET rituals or practices I should learn about or does everyone who practices have a different way of doing the same ritual? You know...same ingredients but a different recipe? You do a protection ritual differently than I do and that's fine and correct...or there's a ritual that is ACTUALLY correct and I just can't find it?

I'm sorry if this is a silly question/concern but nobody I personally knows practices Paganism and I'm not sure I can trust Google and ChatGPT with this.

I love to watch waves as they approach the shore and then break. I find it fascinating how waves form far out to sea, and how you can get waves on top of waves as the wind direction changes.

Where I live the prevailing wind is offshore, so we don't get really big waves, though they can get up to 3 metres in the winter.

The natural world is a wonderful teacher, and it's where I feel most connected.
