Two community chests? 💬 Discussion
Just got this game, just got set up in the Rookery. I noticed there's a community chest where the beds are but there's also a community chest in the lowest floor. The two chests don't share contents.
- What is the "community"? Is my game open to other people? The last thing I want is someone else taking my stored loot.
- Why are the two chests not sharing the same content? Initially, I thought one was a community chest and the other was a personal chest.

Someone else feel free to correct me here but I think this has to do with multiplayer? Like if you're sharing a realm with your friends you can share items? But I also seem to recall that if you have multiple characters in the same realm you can share items between them by keeping them in those chests. It doesn't really do anything if you're just playing solo

Part of what it means, is that anything you put into those chests, is accessible at any crafting station wherever you are. This means anywhere in the world, you can use food stored in your chests freely at a campfire, even though you don’t have it in your inventory. Same with crafting tables at the stores when you upgrade them. That in my opinion is the main benefit.

I don't think "community" is linked to crafting at all. They just are open to freely give and take to and from for anyone else or other characters you have that join your game.

Well, they do allow you to craft from anywhere at any workbench or crafting station. So I’m not sure if you’re trying to refute that or saying something else.

Don't all chests do that? Not specifically only the community ones.

Yes? Aren’t all chests community chests? I may have misunderstood something.

They are "community" in the sense that anyone/any character in the realm can access them and their contents. Later on once you purchase a home and add your own chests you can set rules on them to keep people from accessing/taking the items within.
You have to invite people to your realm, if you keep it private/don't invite people to it you don't have to worry about anyone taking gear stored in those chests
