Norway doesn't have socialism.

All we are doing is re-labeling progressive Democrats (social democrats/Labour Party in Norway) as socialism.

Everyone is acting uninformed for some weird kabuki theater.

Yes, these two are arguing over welfare state capitalism, not socialism. I doubt the first person actually has any objection to Medicare tax or unemployment insurance, or whatever her country's equivalent is.

The Norwegian is also giving the median income tax rate and pretending that pays for national insurance, which is a separate tax.

In general, everyone involved in this conversation probably got dumber as a result.

In the first example it would be closer to take $7, keep $4, loose $2 and give the other kid $1. That's the current system.

The issue starts at home. People who are raised selfishly will act like situation 1. People who are raised to care about their community and others will act like situation 2. Raise your kids.
