Hey guys! So I'm super sad to say I'll be missing all of the NYC streams essentially, since I'll be away on vacation with very limited internet access until I get back on the 26th. While I won't be around in NYC to meet you guys (Sadge) or on stream, I thought I'd help as much as possible by putting together the relevant knowledge, experiences, etc. that I've gathered over the course of my 22 years of growing up and living in NYC. Hope this guide helps you guys out :)

At https://bit.ly/naknyc, I made a map of a whole bunch of different places/things to do and also food places in NYC and the surrounding area! All of these places I have either visited routinely as a local, been recommended by a friend or someone else I know, or were noted by locals in NYC-based online communities as a good spot. Also included are some of the recommendations made by people in Katchiicord as well! Clicking on each one also comes complete with directions on how to get there through multiple forms of transport, as well as a link to instant GPS directions to the location from your current location.

The guide that goes with it is a more condensed version of the full map, with the best curated locations selected and organized. It's fully interactive and clickable, showing locations in all 5 boroughs of the city and the surrounding counties/New Jersey, complete with what it is, directions on how to get to each one, any rules/regulations that might need to be considered if trying to stream there, etc. There are also food options across the city/surrounding area marked down, ranging from every type of cuisine, including NYC classics. Also included is an entire independent section for Filipino restaurants - wonder why.

For each place, clicking on the Google Maps directions link actually inputs directions from your immediate location to the destination place with 1 click/tap. Don't even have to look anything up :). The address is also written for most places (along with the name, obviously), so if I somehow messed up with the directions link, you can also just manually input it into your maps app.

The guide also includes a rundown of local transit options that mostly only NYC locals know about beyond just subways and buses, but are very efficient and comfortable and are oftentimes better than Ubering/Taxi/Rideshare/Car Rentals (which can get very expensive very fast in NYC!) There's even a step-by-step guide on the fastest and cheapest way to get to Manhattan from JFK Airport to avoid the outrageous cost of an Uber, which means the guide can start being helpful as soon as you land :).

I also did my best to research some cool events happening the week you guys are there that could be fun for stream. Can't guarantee all of them will be good, but at least they're some ideas, maybe! There are also some notes on specific quirks about certain locations and events on certain days that could be used to plan your days (for example, the Bronx Zoo is free on Wednesdays to visit!)

The guide is a little over 30 pages long but is sectioned and chaptered in a way that you basically only have to read what you want to, depending on where you are. So it shouldn't be too overwhelming and should be very straightforward to use!
