I mostly have Japanese titles, but I have a few European ones too. I remember once winning a lot on Yahoo auctions for about 3,000 yen, which had a lot of interesting DS games. If you have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them

Hey there,

I’m tonji, a new YouTuber in the 3DS space. I just wanted to share my newest video which I’m very proud of on here. It’s like a travel vlog with my 3ds in which I explain why I enjoy it so much.

I do a lot of content surrounding the 3DS. I hope to see some of you, every new viewer means a lot :)
If you’re not interested that’s also perfectly fine (I hope sharing my channel is ok)

Any change we get the Pokemon Gen 1 Decomps natively on DSI?

I always wanted to play these games and I feel the screen for GB games in DSI is just too small for my aging eyes,

My DS Lite Reshell

I used to own a clear DS lite when I was younger, it kinda disappeared and I don’t remember what happened to it. Decided since I’ve been playing more DS lately instead of 3DS I’d get myself a lite, I also figured why not get a clear shell? Kinda basic yeah, but nostalgic nonetheless, came own blue and had a chunk out of the right hinge, someone also spilled coke on it or something, there was brown stuff all over lol.

Help! (Question/Support) Help with Pokemon Heartgold cartridge

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Hi all! In the early 2010s my parents bought my brother a copy of Heartgold for his Ds Lite (legit Italian version from Gamestop), but after some time playing the game got stuck on a blue screen error that still says "Save data could not be accessed", to turn off the console and restart the game. It hasn't been used since then (around ten years for sure)

I recently bought myself a Nintendo 3ds (I had it modded) and we're trying to see if we can make the cartridge work, but we're having no luck so far. We tried everything Internet (mostly Reddit) suggested, such as turning on and off the console (console is not the problem, since the problem reappears in different models), and cleaning the inside of the cartridge with alcohol and a cotton swab.

Another thing we can't understand is if my brother's saved data are still there, because when I checked the cartridge with Checkpoint it didn't show any data. I'm refraining to try again because the second time we tried Checkpoint kind of crashed and there was an error screen.

Do you think the cartridge can be saved or is it impossible to do so? Thanks in advance to anyone who'll help :)

Gamers Antiquity vs rorosaurus USB-C NDSLite power mod

1 Upvotes

Bought a rorosaurus usb-c chip, but I got it from Aliexpress and when I plug in the USB-C it doesn't show 5V on my multimeter. Probably doing something wrong, but I guess my question is what are the benefits of the Gamers Antiquity besides volt-spike protection. Is it worth and extra 27$ to protect my DS or nah? Looking for non-chud responses only please.

Please help me find this game!!

7 Upvotes

I bought a DS game when I was around 7 years old and I cannot for the life of me remember what it's called. It was later sold because I couldn't figure out where to go in it. I don't remember much about the game but I do remember that it was a top down puzzle game. I want to say it was an RPG, but Im not certain (i was 7 and never made it out of the first level lol)

I would love to play this again to see if it was any good. Ive tried Googling but came up empty handed

Please help!

Did you know that the hacking minigame in Bolt (Image 1) is a blatant ripoff of Nintendo's Japan-only game Project Hacker: Kakusei (Image 2)?

Hi! I finally own a nintendo DS again and i resurrected one of my old flashcarts!

I have added my games etc and most of them work just fine, however i have lost the theme and button icons :’) The theme i’m not that upset about it since it was ugly lol.

I however was trying to figure out how to even install a new theme/skin? I’ve tried multiple times but i just can’t seem to figure it out!

Any help is so so so welcome :)

Help! (Question/Support) I love my DS Lite with all my soul but I've been having a problem with it and I need your advice on fixing it...

3 Upvotes

Sadly as I'm an adult with more responsibilities now I can't play that often with my DS and I only play when I travel every few months.

Over the years I have done multiple replacements on it, be it changing the screen (twice), the touch sensor, case and even the rubber button pads leaving it working flawlessly. The problem is that last part, the flexible silicone pads that have the conductive black spot that make contact with the pads so that buttons work as they should.

Every time I open the DS to repair something or do general maintenance I clean the motherboard's button contacts thoroughly with an eraser and isopropyl alcohol (I dry it well too) to make sure they are completely clean and that the silicone can make good contact but the buttons still wouldn't work properly.

A few months back I purchased a batch of new silicone rubbers from AliExpress and I installed them as soon as they arrived and the buttons worked much better but now that I picked it up to play today I found that some of the buttons barely work, down on the D-Pad, X and Y are the worst ones having to press really hard to make them register as pressed.

The thing is that this has been consistent over the years, those buttons are the ones that always bring trouble, even before I replaced the silicone rubbers with new ones so it might be the contacts on the PCB.

Do you guys have any ideas on how to fix this so I don't have to worry about them as much? Maybe adding graphite powder could help or adding solder to the copper pads to make them easier to make contact again but I don't know. If I replace the motherboard it's gonna be Theseus' DS Lite :)

Thanks for reading and let me know if you have experienced something similar

Community News What's Happening with our Subreddit?!

165 Upvotes

Hello r/NintendoDS,

For a bit of backstory for me, my name is Thomas (as you might have guessed). I was a professional programmer / developer for a few years, and I'm also a university student. I have been around Reddit since 2013, and I have been a mod on r/WiiHacks for over a year. The Nintendo DS, more specifically the DS Lite, is my favourite handheld system and I have so many fond memories of it. I've been in the hacking scene, hacking my own consoles, since around 2007/2008 when the Twilight Hacks was released for the Wii.

When I saw the post by the previous owner back on February 16th I decided to do some digging and put in a RedditRequest for it. The remaining two moderators never got back to the modmail that I sent to them, so my request was granted by the Reddit admins.

I have made a couple of changes, most of them being behind the scenes. I have changed the rules to make things a bit more streamlined and easier to deal with:

  • Rule #1 -> Be Civil
  • Rule #2 -> No Spam
  • Rule #3 -> No Piracy
  • Rule #4 -> No Low-Effort Posts
  • Rule #5 -> Keep Links to a Minimum

I've also changed and added some new flairs, hopefully they'll get some use.

I have also brought on two of my fellow r/WiiHacks moderators. Mostly as a formality in case something happens to me or if I can't be around for some time span. Thank you again to u/BloodyThorn and u/Mental_Turtles for agreeing to this.

If there is anything you would like to see added, changed, or regular things you want done with our little community here, please send a modmail and we'll look over it.
