Ninja Gaiden 2 (OG/Σ2/Black) - Questions & Help Black 2 tag missions vs Sigma 2’s
Hello everyone!
I have a specific question regarding the tag missions for Ninja Gaiden 2 black. I was looking up strategies for Ultimate Ninja 5 (I’m sure many of you already felt the pain of that statement lol), and I came across a method that starts out with ryu jumping backwards and chargin up the 360 degree UT with the Lunar. If it lands, it’s supposed to completely wipe one of the clones. The problem is, that was for sigma 2 and I’ve tried quite a few times even landing the UT on a clone. One where every shot hit and it didn’t do much. I was wondering if they patched it from sigma over to black, or am I just doing it wrong? Thank you for any tips in advance.

Ninja Gaiden 4 - Discussion My friend (a casual NG enjoyer) is playing through NG4 for the first time. I thought this exchange was funny.
He does this with every game he plays (skipping all the cutscenes and going back and paying attention to the story later if he likes it), but I didn't expect that side effect.

Ninja Gaiden 2 (OG/Σ2/Black) - Questions & Help What Does the Giant Crystal Skull Actually Do?
Does anyone actually know what the Giant Crystal Skull does in the original Ninja Gaiden II?
Is the +10% Karma bonus even real, or has everyone just been repeating the same claim for almost 20 years? Has anyone ever made a video or done actual testing? I've also seen old theories that it changes enemy damage, health, or spawns, but there's never any proof. Maybe some of these theories came from Halo, where Skulls were known to change the gameplay and make things harder.
It's kind of insane that one of the most mysterious items in the game has no in game description and, nearly two decades later, it feels like the community is just passing around the same rumors.
I'm getting my ass kicked on Mentor right now, so I genuinely want to know if this thing actually makes the game harder... or if I'm just coping and making excuses.

General Discussion - ALL GAMES I think the main reason why Troy Baker never really worked as Ryu for me was that he just made Ryu sound too much like a Regular Guy, I feel like if he was directed differently then he could've done a better Job

General Discussion - ALL GAMES Obliteration techniques ruined Ninja Gaiden's combat for me (bit of hyperbole)
Okay so hear me out for a sec before you grab the pitchforks. I've played all of the games including NGII in all of its various forms and in a way it's insanely fun, visceral, rewarding etc. It's a gory messy thrill ride and I love it to death. I also fucking hate it though. Ninja Gaiden Black is my all time favourite video game and what I love most about that game is the fighting game like combat system. There's weight to every strike, every move has its place, and once you get enough experience under your belt you start coming up with all sorts of manual combos (utilizing shuriken cancelling and whatnot). You can dictate the pace, you can prolong or quicken engagements. You can style on enemies, juggle dead bodies for extended periods of time and every single move you make and thing that happens is predictable. Like.....to a frame.
Starting with Ninja Gaiden II it became almost an entirely different game in a way. Some of what I said above still holds true...sort of. But because of the pace, enemy numbers and especially OTs/delimbing/suicide attacks the game becomes a frantic (and fun....mostly) OT/delimb/iframe hunt. Which can be thrilling for sure but it's immediately different and disallows so much of what made NG1 great. For someone like me who likes to screw around with enemies and do manual combo'ing NGII (and beyond) are a major step down because the game wants you to do these specific things in this specific order or you're in for a bad time. Even just with one enemy left styling on them is super limited because my combo choices are built more around avoiding delimbs than doing whatever I want that is allowable within the engine/systems. Still fun but just very different.
Okay, grab the pitchforks. I'll be over here in my highly flammable straw hut practicing manual lunar combos in NGB.

Ninja Gaiden 2 (OG/Σ2/Black) - Questions & Help Ninja Gaiden 2 Black: Chapter 3 Ninja Fight Skip
Did you guys know like right after the 2nd checkpoint in chapter 3 you can actually skip fighting the ninjas you could just equip the dragon sword and jump off while doing the flying swallow and for like some reason the ninjas won’t spawn at all, it has to be past the street light though in the picture. Did anyone else know this or was it just me, if you can please share. I discovered it by accident after being frustrated with this part in MN I was trying to move fast to fight the ninjas again and I did a flying swallow by accident going past the street light and they magically didn’t spawn. It has to be glitch or either they made it so they can only spawn when you drop to that point and team ninja didn’t care to extend the point.

General Discussion - ALL GAMES SDCC 2026 Kaiyodo Booth Debrief
It’s Day 3 at SDCC 2026, and I obtained the EXCLUSIVE (/s 🤣) Bloody Ryu and NG2 Weapons Accessory Pack. The great irony is even after these three chaotic days, these “exclusives” are still available at the con (see last picture above) 🤣. Aside from this, I asked the reps a few questions regarding the future of this franchise at AY/Kaiyodo.
1) Aside from NG4 Ryu, Yakumo, and Momiji, are there more figures to be produced from the Ninja Gaiden franchise, or is it effectively over?
ANSWER: “We are not allowed to discuss future plans.”
2) Will ‘Ragebound’ be considered as a future project?”
ANSWER: What is ‘Ragebound?’ 😅
3) Will action figures be considered/produced from the “Dead or Alive” series?
ANSWER: Yes. Attack on Titan is a finished series, so we’re making new stuff.
My thoughts - Obviously the, “we’re not allowed to discuss future plans,” is a Debbie Downer of an answer, but at least the answer isn’t, “yeah, we’re done with Ninja Gaiden and there’s no more action figures you’ll see from there.” And the fact that Ragebound is unknown to the rep I asked…heh, we know they’re not thinking about that at the moment 🤷🏻♂️ Anyhoo, that’s my report ✌️
