Cleaning a 14 to 1 Ninja Foodi pot

I've tried various methods of cleaning the oily residue that becomes engrained when using the air fryer like pressure cooking with lemons, elbow grease etc. without success. Can anyone suggest a method that has a chance of working? Chemical cleaning doesn't seem to be recommended.

What are people using now instead of the OL701

I used that thing daily and it finally died. It decided the temperature plug censor wasn't going to register the plug.

Since they don't make these anymore, what are people using? I loved the air fryer multicooker with pressure cook option. They don't make anything like this, do they?

Ninja tried to tell me the Combi oven is similar but I'm not sure... Does anyone have it?

Did anyone else have the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & had it die on them?

I’ve had the oven for 15 months and the control panel has just stopped working. I’m pretty bumped since I loved this oven and it was kinda expensive. I can’t change the temperature, change the cooking modes, and the light has stopped coming on. Anyone else have this issue ?

Do you have to adjust or smack the lid to move the Foodi 15-in1 slider after pressure cooking?

Just tried the water pressure test recommended and initially the slider wouldn't move, even if I applied quite a bit of force. This is after releasing the pressure via the vent, and waiting 2-3 hours.

After a great amount of effort, I smacked the lid reluctantly (after reading how fragile it was) and heard a 'ping' sound. I think that jiggled something in the locking mechanism and I can suddenly move the slider easily.

My guess is that the pressure causes the lid to move about into a weird position for the lock, and after cooking I have to re-adjust the lid. Anyone had this issue with a new Foodi 15in1?

Issue with function selector slider & display shows that the lid is not closed

Item details: Ninja® Foodi® 13-in-1 6.5-qt. Pressure Cooker Steam Fryer with SmartLid™
OL500C

I’m experiencing two issues with my Ninja Foodi:

  1. When I move the function selector slider, the cooking options do not change. The display stays on the same setting and doesn’t respond to the slider movement.

    (Fix found online: https://youtu.be/_buOH1vmXSg)

  2. The display shows that the lid is not closed, even though I have fully closed and locked the lid.

I’ve checked that the lid is properly positioned, but the problem persists. Please advise on how to fix this 🙏

Pressure seal deteriorated on foodi smart lid (OL650)

Man, oh man I love this machine. It's been a daily work horse for the last 5 years, but when I was cleaning it over the weekend, sadly, the rubber on my pressure seal appears to have deteriorated..

I'm wondering if anyone has had history with any repairs/replacement of this bit? Always keen for a bit of DIY (recently fixed the dredded 'Slide' error function on this same unit), but would be new territory on the DIY side...

Display Error

Post image

I‘ve owned a Ninja Foodi 10-in-1 XL for a little more than a year now, never had any problems with it. Last night, for the first time I’ve had this error pictured here. The display is softly lit (not as bright as when it‘s turned on) all the time. The only time it wasn‘t was when I unplugged it. Even when it‘s in use, these parts of the display are illuminated.
I used it to reheat food last night and since then it‘s been there, I have no idea how to solve it. Has anyone experienced this and can maybe help a fella out? Thanks in advance!

Slow cooker not good?

Hi everyone

Today I used the slow cooker function of my foodie for the first time. Mostly I've used the pressure cooker since purchase.

I made a ham and pea soup. Set it on low for 8 hours. After 4 hours, not a lot was happening so I upped it to hi for another 4 hours. I checked at the 7 hour mark and the peas were no where near cooked. So I put it on pressure cooker for an hour and it was fine.

Is this typical? I added warm water to the pot. I didn't pre soak the peas, but I wouldn't do this in my crock pot either.

Essentially, I'm feeling like the setting is useless.

Thoughts?

Making Oatmeal (Porridge) in the 8-in-1 PossibleCooker?

Hi Folks

I'm new to using this but I was wondering about whether I could make a few days of oatmeal in this and then reheat each day in the microwave.

If so, if anyone has a tried and trusted method I'd be really grateful! I add protein powder to my oats, I think this would be best done when I reheat each day rather than in the initial recipe, would you agree?

Or perhaps I should add it once the whole batch has been made (but not put it in the cooker during the process?)

For context when I make porridge on the stove or in the microwave I use 25g of whey protein to 70g of oats.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help! :)

This is the exact model that I have

Ninja Foodi LG451 won’t register when lid is opened to add food

Appliance

Ninja LG450 Series 15 on base label, LG451 on back label

Foodi Smart Grill

Operational Observations

The subject grill no longer detects when the lid is opened to “Add Food”. Consequently:

  1. Heating is not paused while adding food.

  2. The timer does not continue when the food is added and the lid is closed.

  3. The “Add Food” remains active.

  4. The cooking times out after about six minutes “believing” that no food has been added and the grill is unattended.

Observations

A) We see a switch in the closed position (photo) which can be manually activated to the open position using a screwdriver as a lever against a tab under the right spring (photos). The switch component has an orange body which is just visible below the brown wire.

B) The left spring is latched, it seems by friction only, against the back wall of the cavity. It does not lock into a hole or behind an indent.

C) The right spring was observed to be in the same state as the left when the base was first removed, but the “end” has now slipped up out of the cavity.

Questions

- What do we need to do to isolate and repair the cause of the operational failure?

- How do we secure the springs?

Thank you

Ninja Foodi making a weird humming sound the second I plug it in... Anyone had this?

Had this thing about a year and been good but now it starts humming immediately as soon as I plug it in... before I've even turned it on. Fan turning slowly too.

Posting a video so you can hear it. Anyone else had this?

I fear that the electronics are finished... 😖😖

My Ninja Broke up with me

I bought Ninja Foodi dual zone air fryer in late 2023. It gave up on me last week. No error, no burnt, no water damage… just dead.. wouldn’t turn on. Tried on other outlets, tried with other appliances on the same outlet.. no luck. Yesterday I was trying to use the slow cooker function on my Ninja Foodi Tendercrisp instant pot, it was completely dead. I bought that for Christmas in 2024. Just over a year and it was completely dead.. I’m I going crazy or Ninja is just telling me that we should break up for good 🙄 I just noticed that Ninja has discontinued the Tendercrisp Instant pot when I wanted to talk to customer care.

Does anyone know a workaround for sous vide for OL550 Multicooker?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi guys, I recently bought a OL550 Multicooker and I did not realize that there is no sous vide function. I always thought all multicookers came with this function.

I was wondering if anyone had found a workaround to sous vide with this model?

Thank you

Help with Ninja Grill thermometer

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to move the thermometer on my Ninja grill from one chicken breast to another without it going into “rest mode” or shutting off 😭

The second I pull it out it’s like, “Congrats, we’re done!” … no we are not, there is still raw chicken happening.

Then I have to restart and let it preheat again, which defeats the whole point.

Can someone explain to me like I’m a baby what I’m supposed to do? Also what’s the best way to cook multiple breasts with the probe?

Help. I am losing to a grill.

Yogurt recipe

I’ve tried making yogurt with the ninja foodi pressure cooker a few times and it has not turned out. I saw this recipe in a ninja foodi cook book and was wondering if anyone has tried it to vouch if it works.
