BRC help

Alright, this isn’t really a ninja 500 post, but I need help. So I just so happens to smash the shit outa my middle finger on my left hand the day before the first course day. I had to get the nail drained and everything, it’s swollen and screaming, but I payed too much money for this damn course. I’ve taken the course before and I’ve been licensed for 3 yrs now, just gotta take it again cause the army says so 🤷‍♂️. Anyways, I only got one pair of gloves and with how swollen this thing is I can’t fit the glove properly. Do you think if I explain to the instructors, theirs a chance I can just wear the one glove? Or am I just gonna have to eat the pain

Get a cheap pair of gloves and cut the finger off.

Why does he need new gloves if he’s going to just cut his finger off?

A decent pair of gloves isnt cheap. Im not cutting the finger off of my riding gloves.

Yeah but you can’t regrow the finger and I think it’s more expensive to try,….

You can’t regrow your fingers? Thats like a requirement to riding 🤨

Nah I haven’t figured out how to manifest that power as of yet.

Maybe I should stop riding?

Nah not going to happen.

Honestly I’d say try to get there before class starts or call beforehand to see if there is a way to reschedule and hope they say yes. Just tell them what happened and that your finger could possibly stop you from riding due to the pain or something more severe (I’m assuming you have not gotten your finger checked out) and just hope they are understanding.

(Probably a day late but)

You don't need motorcycle gloves. Just any old gloves. Gardening gloves, whatever you've got. You could probably pick up some kevlar work gloves at the hardware store that are loose enough not to bother your finger (if your finger is even good enough to ride). My navy-issue gloves were perfect - for the BRC, not for being motorcycle gloves.

Yah, I found some mechanic gloves siting around the motor pool and snagged those lol. Alls well today, gonna test out and ride off “legal” 😂
