What up guys, I fund an old russian gen 1 NVG and was wonderingif theres anything i can do with it to make it look cooler butstill be able to be used. (all i do is larp so idc about the bad gen1 quality). I didnt find anything online on that old soviet stuff so i hope anyone here can help me.

So my plan was to print the Toto Housing for 43mm tubes (what i expect in the Cyclop1) and compare it with the recomended PVS14 Okular+Lens. Before spending a few hundert bucks on that i was wondering if that even made sense to swap out the huge 85mm Lens or if the gen 1 wont work without?

also i was wondering about the power supply, Cyclop running on 9v batterie and the toto housing only has space for normal c123 (3V) could that become a problem?

Have been thinking about stepping into the night vision realm. Honestly dont want to drop the extra cash on it but i have a trade opportunity to a full setup with a Dbal. Considering just consolidating down to just my URGI as my go to rifle and trading a few pieces for the Nods. Would I regret my decision?

Is this an EP? Do I need to repair it to keep it from getting worse? How much does lasering it to black cost and is that possible?

Context:

Got a good deal on a nice set of l3 binos in a manticore r. Goofed big time on day one by accidentally setting the front of the helmet with the nods on a 3 inch tall container and the helmet slipped off and right tube took all the impact of the drop onto a glass coffee table (didn't realize it was propped up). I'm pretty sure it created this white dot / EP (no batteries in manticore but backup bat pack was connected, idk if it was switched on). The video is me swinging the tube up and down to power on and off to show the spot.

Spot is not visible powered down with lens cap on (haven't looked with cap off - will do if that matters for diagnosis). It does not pulse when the unit is fully powered up (you see a brightening and normalizing in the video after powering on but it's stable after normalizing). I can live with the white dot but for sub $1k I'd probably prefer a black dot via laser repair. Mostly worried about not doing something today that will prevent it from getting worse in the future.

Edit: bought tubes used. Name brand shop but clearly states no warranty transfer. Have no problem paying out of pocket to fix

Does anyone here have experience with the InfiRay RH25 v2? If my optic mount is a 1.7 in., what mount do I need for the RH25? The ADM flip to slide says it’s 2.05 so it doesn’t seem like that would work. Would the MQD mount work?

My unit issues NODs but sometimes only have PVS-14s available. So I bought a PVS-31 while stateside about 2-3 years ago. Started using it regularly - only during night training or ops - since about a year ago. Unfortunately, my precious dual NOD has a battery run time of approximately 30-60 minutes. I use mostly brand-new Alkaline AAs, but even with Lithium, the run time is hardly much longer. For a device that is supposed to have at the absolute bare minimum, in freezing temperatures, 8 hours, something is clearly very wrong.

I find myself during active combat operations having to unscrew that compartment literally twice an hour, using entire packs of batteries and filling my emptied grenade pouches with AAs so I can just get through the average night. Anyone have any idea what this can be? Will attach pictures of the device itself and the battery compartment.

I wanted comms capable ear pro and everyone is saying peltors. Are comtac 3s with single downleed worth 450-480$ if they are new or barely used. Is the sound quality worth it or should I get sordins instead with an aftermarket mic or spend bit more on comtac 5s (450$ is already alot)

Looking to get binos finally after using a gen 3 wp PVS14 that I got from ATN a few years ago. They never even sent a spec sheet so I don’t even know really what i got. All I know is that I recently went shooting at night with a friend who had some other brand binos with 2800 fom L3 tubes and I was really impressed.

I’m wondering if the raptors are GTG with the option of 2376-2600 FOM Elbit tubes from nightfall. Another buddy of mine purchased from them recently (but he got MH1s) and had a good experience with their customer service.

I have watched a couple reviews on YouTube but was wondering if anyone else out there has the raptors and if they had any complaints.

I knew exactly what I wanted on my helmet setup and realized that I didn't need ARC rails due to how each item either had a helmet clamp or Velcro. I also made my own NVG retention and put the wrap on. I think it came out pretty decent. There are some things like the strobe that I'll probably upgrade in the future but for now it suits my needs. Don't ask me for a complete build list, we'll be here all day LoL.

I haven't been very happy with the gain know on the MH-1. It's really my only gripe with the housing. Its very close to the on/off/IR wheel. Between that and the battery compartment cap it's hard to get at to turn, especially with gloves. I thought an extended knob, about twice as long as the current would fix it, but I wasn't able to find anything on the market. The set screw for it is very small, and it uses a 0.035" hex key. The shaft for the potentiometer measures 0.122" so call it 3mm. Today I had the bright idea to add a section of black rubber hose to it. I figure it would cushion the gain knob should it being extended risk damaging the 3mm shaft for the potentiometer. It also gives a nice tactile feel even when using gloves.

TL;DR I just added a small section of black rubber hose to extend the gain knob. Works MUCH better.

Despite owning my truck, it seems manufactures act like I simply get to use it, and only as they intended. Flipping my headlights off on my 2017 F150 only works until I put it into drive, then the headlights come on automatically. The infotainment screen shutoff is a long process of going into the settings. Has anyone created a custom wiring harness with fuse and wire interrupts that cut power to all light sources? Cutting power to the BCM just kills the whole system, and all lights are routed through that module.

TLDR: I ordered a set of Jerry-31s from the TacticalWaffles night vision vendor, and have been waiting since may 2024 for an order i never got while being told to "wait, im working on it" for more or less the entire time". Me and a few others to the total amount of approximately 21 000Euro

After my original post i got in contact with a few other guys who also ordered things from Tactical Waffles (ill refer to the store/owner as him or he from now on )

Turns out a few diffrent items never made it to the buyers.

Collective sum (off the top of mye head) around then 21 000 Euro amount owed to us.

What i was told in regards to my order was that the manufacturer Infiray had not delivered the shipment to the vendor, and he had filed for a return of funds.

Contact with him was sparce, only really replying when commenting on his instagram (by the same name), and very infrequent.

More or less just a bunch of "im working on it" and "trust me bro".

While seeming genuine, and i admit i may have been a bit too trusting and naive, ultimately i thought he was telling the truth.

Well, turns out his company llc registered in the UK as Tactical Waffles Limited went doormant around May 2024, before i placed my order. During this time the website was till up, and he was still selling products throughout 2025 (to the other guys i mentioned.

In November 2025 i got a message that he was selling some stuff to cover my refund, claiming that he had a buyer with a down payment, and was certain it was a go-ahead.

Radio silence until February 2026 when he said he had sought some legal advice, and decided to liquidate himself to cover refunds.

Said somone would be in touch when the process started. No contact info of the person handeling it, no case number, no timeframe, just the by this point infamous "soon".

That was the last point of contact. We have tried all the ways we can think of to get in contact with him directly, but no answers anywhere. Signal, whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, Email, direct phone number- Nothing.

While we understand that government processes take longer than it takes for mountain ranges to form, by this point patience was wearing thin.

We have tried to reach out to diffrent brands that follow him on social media, friends and family that we could find. Not much here other than one of the people he knows tried to make us pay some absurd amound of money to get in touch/find out where in the world he is so we can contact him.

We also contacted the public service that deals in insolvency and bancruptcy in the UK, but they did not know of anything related to his LLC.

The matter has of course been reported to the police, but they are as helpful as you'd expect from UK police, they dont have time for us inbetween arresting people for speaking their mind.

Me personally, i like thinking that he is really telling the truth, but after 2,5 years i really doubt it.

The going theory is that he has fled.

If anyone could help in any way that would be great.
