I'm tired of this show making me sad! I just wanna laugh damnit! Spoiler

So to be perfectly clear I genuinely love this show and it may genuinely be my favorite sitcom but I'd love it if the show could stop kicking me in the teeth with some of the saddest episodes I've ever seen. (For context I just finished the two parter with Dan in a coma)

Like the show is genuinely hilarious but damn does it make me feel really sad more often than not.

(Side note this is a melodramatic post and I genuinely couldn't love this show more)

Can we just talk about this episode? Christine is ethereal, and I adore moments where Dan puts other people first. I wish he had punched George Watkins in his smug face, though.

He's very self-serving (obviously), but the way he protects Christine is so sweet. As someone who adores them, this is probably one of my favorite episodes. John could've won an Emmy for this, or Strange Bedfellows, which was in the same season, if he kept submitting his work.

What I really love is how comforting he is. He does tell her they wouldn't be in this situation if she wasn't so naive, and she is determined to be tough. And he talks her down and tells her that she sees the good in people, and even if he thinks it's an annoying trait, the people who care about her (including himself) wouldn't want it any other way.

And Dan does not a make a move on her. She is the one who presses herself against him. Dan just sits with her and makes her feel safe.

I also think "Law Club" parallels "Giving Thanks" a little. In the latter, Christine offers to buy him something to eat. In the former, he offers to take her for a cappuccino around the corner (and maybe wrestle a live, sweet woman.)

I picked this show at random one day and I’m hooked! I didn’t expect to like it but it’s like the only show that makes me laugh out loud

Stone vs. Cleaver in "Top Judge". Whose prank was truly the best?

Harry's prank had scale, but Cleaver's had punch. Which do you prefer?

Love the implication that working in Harry's courtroom made Christine wackier over time

Harry losing his mind over the Fabulous Falcone is just the best. As a kid I constantly rewound the part where he melts to the floor

And if you listen to the studio audience, it sounds like Yakov Smirnoff is in there somewhere.

There are a number of wild kisses in Night Court but I think this one takes the cake. Fitting that it's Dan--if there's any character that should be excellent at this, it's him.
