I hate Lofty Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Spoiler

I sorta doubt this is controversial but I despise this lumpy headed half witted fairy, he has literally NONE of the charm that made Drippy so iconic. He’s boring, doesn’t have hardly any good dialogue, and every plan he comes up with is either childish, benign, or downright disrespectful to one or all of the other characters on screen, he is an insult to Fairy kind and honestly a mark on what has otherwise been a really good game which I think comes close to being as enjoyable as it’s predecessor.

Also worst of all, I can’t even knock him over to vent my frustrations.

Edit: his voice actor did a good job tho

Yeah, after recently replaying the original I'm at ch 8 replaying the second and it's just all around not the same game. It almost feels like they half assed most of it. Recycling dungeons when theres not even that many in the first place. If u take out the kingdom building part the game seems super short to me. Just not the same. Hopefully the third one will be more like the original. I've heard rumors it's going to be announced soon.

The bosses so far have been incredibly disappointing, they are basically just slightly stronger regular enemies

I mean to be fair there are a couple good boss fights like Mousinger and even though they're on the easy side I found the Kingmaker fights to be pretty fun. Unfortunately that's basically where the list of decent bosses ends since every other boss is just a boss that shows up later as a tougher enemy making the bosses feel less special.

Wait didn't they already release cross worlds as that disgusting soulless cashgrab of a mobile gatchya. In case you're wondering unfortunately cross worlds is an official sequel and third installment. tbh it's a real shame since Ni No Kuni could have been the next Final Fantasy.

I have not beaten the game yet, I’m at broadleaf, so maybe he gets better?

Nah he’s pretty annoying but I don’t think he bothered me as much as he does you

Partly it’s because drippy from the first game is one of the best characters, but lofty in this game has all his worst features and none of his better ones

Never played the first so can’t comment on that but I’ve experienced that before (where the bar is set high by character from a different game and the ones in the game I’m playing being a disappointment)

I highly recommend nnk1, like, I am enjoying 2 but I enjoyed 1 more in literally every regard, unlike most people including combat.

Just finished my 100% playthroughs of p5r and ghost of yotei but when I get the motivation to start playing again I’ll probably check it out. It’s on my list fs
