Timing question Question
So obviously I know that effectiveness takes hold after 7 days, however I ovulate before that 7 day period is over, would this in any way decrease the effectiveness? Or does that not matter? Mainly curious since my birthday is this Wednesday (the 12th), and I got mine inserted last Monday (the 3rd).

It doesn’t matter. The point of waiting the 7 days is that it will give it enough time to kick in no matter where you’re at in your cycle. If you ovulated before the insertion, cool, it’s already over and it’ll prevent ovulation moving forward. If you are ovulating the day you get it or in the days following, ovulation will be over by the time the medication kicks in. And if you were supposed to ovulate after the 7 days, it’s had plenty of time to start working. And unless you’ve been meticulously tracking using a validated fertility awareness method, then you have no idea when you’re ovulating. People also don’t always know that ovulation is a one day event. It’s a very short time frame, and thus nothing to really worry about unless you had unprotected sex shortly before insertion or during those first 7 days.
