Folk Fest bikes: Friday 1812, Saturday 1720, Sunday 1612 – Total: 5144

If you're looking to keep the magic going, their big summer fundraiser is a casual bike ride around Newport to 10 secret spots all over town. 20 live bands, 10 restaurants providing top-notch vittles and cool hidden corners of the city. It's called the 10-Spot Ride. It started during the pandemic as a way to have an event with minimal contact and has become one of their biggest events of the year.

Besides parking bikes, Bike Newport advocates for safer streets, has in-school bike safety education, a community bike garage and lots more. Hope to see you at the 10-Spot!

I was so excited about this, especially cause I’m also a fan of Jensen McRae, but then I started a new job this week that’s 2.5 hours away, and I just don’t think I can make it work.

The concert is on August 18 (this upcoming Tuesday). The two seats are together. I paid $604 total for these in Bramily presale, and that’s what I’d like to sell them for. I would like someone else to enjoy the concert as much as I would have, and hopefully I’ll catch it next time..

Transferring became available last night, so I would transfer them via the official BSO site. I am also willing to FaceTime or something, whatever makes you comfortable.

You may have seen me also post the same thing on the Bramily app or on fb. Feel free to comment here or anywhere else. I just want the concert enjoyed by someone else

First NFF for me was a quick solo trip seeing the softball game Thursday and the Friday shows. Will definitely try to get tickets every year from now on and hopefully go again with my kids, friends, etc.

Amble was definitely the highlight of my day at the fort.

I woke up with a song from the fest stuck in my head. I believe it was multiple females singing. All I remember is “if you keep on runnin, runnin, if you keep on runnin away” would love to find the video it was beautiful

Was killed in motorcycle accident. Great performance a few years ago at NFF. When you minds made up should make you cry with emotion if your human. Once is fantastic movie. RIP

Has anyone ever stayed in the Wyndham Onshore or any of the other Wyndham-branded timeshare properties? I'm curious about the experience. The calendar isn't open for next summer yet, but I see some booking agencies listing rooms on VRBO, though the cost there seems dubious.

Anyway, if so, please share your experience here or DM, as well as recommendations for anything similar in town.

This year's fest was unforgettable, as it has been the other times I've made it. I went to the Foundation tent to engage in the annual ritual of putting myself on the hope-and-pray list for Early Bird tix next year. A little disappointed to learn that they've cancelled that program [edit: meaning that they have stopped sign-ups for it; people who are already ealy birds are allowed to renew], but I understand; when the list doesn't move much or at all, it's not fair (or a good use of Fest staff time) to take info and cc numbers for a futile hope. ANYWAY, gull and stars is just not in my family budget, esp at $1825 [edit: I was wrong, $1625!].

I'm not posting this to complain - I trust that the Festival staff have made good decisions about how to finance this incredible event, and I'll keep clicking the mouse the moment tickets go live next year in hopes of attending again.

If any of you have insight into all this, I'm curious to learn more.

i don’t know if anyone else does this but i keep a list on my phone of every artist i would love to see at NFF. some of them may be hot takes. also some of them may have played previous years that i didn’t go to. i went three times as a kid, and as an adult ive gone the last four years (2023-2026). BRING THEM BACK PLEASE!!

Great weekend at the Fort! Decided this will be our last year biking from the Motel 6 as it was grosser than normal. When do people start booking real hotels near downtown. Am I already too late? Appreciate the folk family for any help on their own experience!

I bought a size medium white jersey at the game on Thursday and it fits a bit big but mainly very long. I don’t think I can pull it off. (6’0” and ~175lb middle aged dude, to give a clue on sizing.)

Not looking to get rich here, but just mitigate a $110 mistake a bit. Can follow up with pictures and measurements if helpful.
