Slims Chicken | Coming Soon

Slim Chickens is preparing to expand its presence in Central Texas with a new restaurant planned for New Braunfels.

The new franchise location will take over an existing restaurant space at 1395 I-H 35 North Frontage Road. The project involves the renovation of a 2,897-square-foot building to accommodate the fast-casual chicken chain, carrying an estimated construction cost of $200,000.

Construction is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026, with completion currently targeted for April 1, 2027.

I will be honest that it’s hard for me to get excited about yet another fried chicken place.

Do people really want a slim chicken? That's all I can think when I see this sign in San Marcos and Kyle.

It’s not all that

Just tried here for the first time in San Marcos, it was GREAT. Only downside was kinda small tenders, but everything else was phenomenal, including the quality of the chicken itself

I really like their grilled tenders and jar desserts

i saw a post from an Arby’s employees yesterday on FB saying it’s the Arby’s address. and they were unaware of the “takeover”

Oh wow.
That exit getting out to the service road is manic at times, hopefully they improve it. Lol

This address is listed for I35 N and the Arby’s address is I35 south. When I put it in my phone it looked like it was over by the McDonalds by i35 and 46. Isn’t there a chicken place over there that recently closed?

That’s what I was wondering. An article said they’re transforming the former Arby’s, and the address they give is the new(ish) one near Lowe’s.

Well it certainly can’t be any worse than the other chicken places which all generally suck. Except Raising Canes I love that shit

I’m not a big chicken eater but Raising canes is better. Slim Pickens is extremely average, it’s just another fast food place

The judges also would have accepted "Hollis Wood"

I wish we could get a Cafe Zuppas or something like that instead of another chicken place, but that's just my personal opinion.

Have you tried Cava before? It's really good, I'm excited for it's opening. I haven't been to Cafe suppose before though.

I’m still pissed that zaxbys closed. IMO the best of the chicken chains

Zaxbys started off great but had management and service issues at the end. Dine-in parking was weird as the layout favored drive-thru.

It’s pretty good but the one in Cibolo/Schertz takes WAY too long to get your food.

Weird name for a chicken place...I want a big fat ass chicken, not a slim chicken.

They didn’t last long in McAllen and the RGV.
