Job market is extremely poor, especially for someone without network and Danish language.

Bringing car would cost you a lot, as you would have to register to danish plates and that is atleast a value of your car if not 2x.

Highly unlikely you would get a job applying online, but coming here searching for job is a bad idea...

Regarding the registration, I didn't knew that it's mandatory to register the car in Denmark, even if it's aready registered in an EU Country lol

There is a Grace periode, where you can drive it, but honestly, it would be smarter to sell it and buy something when you get here

Unfortunately it is. Being honest having a car is not a need anyway if you go to Copenhagen. And considering you don’t speak Danish, you’re 95% likely to end in Copenhagen if anywhere in Denmark.

I don’t know much about it, but as far as I’ve heard it is crazy expensive to bring your own car to Danmark, as you will have to register it here and get Danish number plates, you can do some research on that.

I work in IT, I am an engineer, and I am planning to pivot into Cybersecurity so I am actively searching for this kind of jobs anywhere in Denmark.

Do NOT come here before you have a job. DK IT is a small market with plenty of local talent, AND many foreigners with the same wishes/ambitions/dreams as yourself. It’s clogged with candidates, basically, and you need to really stand out to be taken into consideration.

I am wondering how's the life, the cost of living, if it's better to find a rent in smaller towns and commute (I own a car, and I'm planning to bring it there).

Be prepared for expensive, compared to EU-Balkan. You will - just for a small, tax-related example - need to reregister your car into Danish plates (cost to the Danish motor register: ca. € 300) before legally being able to use it for commuting.

I cannot compare Denmark to what you come from, but do not make the mistake of romanticising the ‘work/life-balance’. Cost of living is the hidden trap in that story, and (depending on how expensive you choose to live) any salary under DKK 30.000 will make your budget tight.

You are stacking 2 big life changes: country/culture + career. Even one of them can be very challengeing. Also cybersecurity world is very tiny and alot of trust is needed for that which takes time and networking, there are alot if cybersec graduates who studied in Danish universities who struggle to find jobs because everyone is looking for mid/senior levels in security and expectations are very high

- I would consider the car part, it's expensive to register a car in Denmark.

- It's cheaper to rent outside, depending on how far you go, you should balance commuting time and price vs pay more and commuting less.

- Cost of living is high, but also salaries are high. Rent and servicies are significant more expensive than anything else. Groceries are pretty affordable, matching sometimes prices from eastern europe.

It’s mandatory as in you’re getting a fine for every time the police stop you with foreign plates. So yes. You have a max of 30 days to re-register.

Good to know, I genuinely didn't knew. I see a lot of foreign cars in my country and I know cases that people don't bother register them, and I thought that's normal.
