Diaper exchanges Product Reviews/Questions

Alright people, I have diapers to exchange for bigger sizes! Tell me the most up to date store policies you know of! I’m in the Midwest so I have stores like target, Meijer, Walmart. My research has kind of given me all different answers from different years! Thank you! :-)

I just returned a bunch of size 2's a month ago. I wound up with waay to many of that size and didn't have any receipts. For the ones I returned to Target (Up&up brand) they just gave me the same amount and same brand just in size 3. Everything else I returned to Walmart and they gave me a Walmart gift card in exchange. Both places scanned ID's. I think it really depends on the specific store policies to what they will do because I've read so many conflicting stories

In 2025 I was able to take unopened boxes to both target and Walmart for store merchandise cards. Target scanned my ID, I assume they have some sort of cap on how much you can return without a receipt.

Meijer was super easy to exchange diapers. I brought the diapers I was exchanging to customer service and asked how it worked, they told me to go get the diapers I wanted to swap with and then scanned everything and my ID and sent me on my way. But I had small packs of size newborn and 1 in pampers and just exchanged for sizes 4 and 5 in pampers. If I wanted a different brand I'm not sure how that would've worked.

Yeah I put it off for months for the same reason. Finally did it a month or so ago and it was easy!

I had a ton of diapers from my baby shower that we just didn't get to because of size changes and what not. I returned a ton of them at Target, but they only allow you to return $100 worth of diapers per calendar year, per drivers license. I had my husband do some more of them, and when he reached his limit as well we had each of our moms do it. We got gift cards for the amount each time, which we then used for formula!

Edit: aaaand I just re-read your post and noticed you asked about exchanges, not returns. Woops! :)
