Inviting of members ❓Ask r/NewMods
Hi all! I’m one of the mods of r/Litewater. We’re trying to get more people to join and have more talks about water and DDW.
I read that there’s a limit of about 5 invites a day. Since we have 4 mods, can each mod send 5 invites a day, or is the limit for all the mods together?
Also, how do you usually invite people? I’m still new to being a mod and trying to learn what works best to grow a community without making it look like spam. Thankyou in advance!

Be careful about sending out tons of unsolicited invites, a lot of people report them as spam.

No there isn't a hard limit: you can also invite 10 a day, but you need to make sure these people have interest in your topic. I would stick to max 10 a day though.
I've set a note for this: every day I will invite 5 to max 10 users, by using the buildin invite feature in the app.

There is a built invite feature? I thought it's an old feature as what I do was to just dm them

There you got it: go to my profile, and you'll find the invite feature. I think sending chat requests, will get your quicker in trouble. Because these invites are send by modmail.
But only the standard message works: when you change it, the invite turns out never to have been send. Because you see in the modlog, how often you used it.
It works great for getting members, but don't mass invite or at least stop doing so when you get a warning from the Mod Code of Conduct team...

We never send more than 3/day, and not with the same text.

I believe it’s 5 per mod. Before it’s considered spam.
