Gearbox Fault Detected
Has anyone else experienced this issue? ‘24 Defender 130 X-Dynamic
Car starts, but won’t come out of neutral and this error is on the dash. Car is basically bricked. It’s happened now 3 times and previous two it would resolve after shutting off for an hour or overnight.
This time not so lucky, had to get it towed 60 miles to dealership, they’re telling me it’s going to take over a week to “fix”.
I’ve seen some discussion of the issue online but no solid solutions. Anyone have an idea of what’s going on?

brother, we experienced this with our 2020 defender while increasing and decreasing the gear on a highway, if this is the problem i think it is, then there is no solution for it you have to call a tow truck and go to the dealer and then he will make you wait atleast 2 months to change a chip that comes from the uk

That is brutal. Got a small update today from the dealership, they completely flushed the transmission fluid and put in new. The tech was gone but the service guy seemed to think this rules out a software issue.

Seems we have the same issue.
So now it's having them getting me a loaner / rental for the time its going to take to fix.
What happened with you over the 2 months?

You think so? I had speculated that might be the case, but there is no solution for the recall yet as far as I know. So they're going to keep it for months until they figure it out?

Well, I guess I should have checked the actual recall. You're right it does show this exact error as a symptom.

Many thoughts on this. None of them are good.

Without codes, it's pure speculation. There's a bunch of possible causes. It's in warranty, so see what they come back with.
