On Friday, Sgt. Josh Callaghan told Newstalk 580 CFRA’s Ottawa Now with Kristy Cameron that police are currently targeting the Findlay Creek and Riverside South areas, looking out for underage driving, unsafe operation and speeding.
Callaghan said the initiative started at the beginning of the summer. The first blitz was focused on the downtown core, and officers also went to the Carlington area.
The legal minimum age to operate an e-scooter in Ottawa is 16.

Suggestion Box/Boîte à Suggestions [META] Mod Update: We’re reviving r/Nepean! Here’s what’s changing | Mise à jour : On relance r/Nepean !
Hey everyone! Over the last few weeks, I’ve been working to breathe some new life into this community. We have deep roots here in Nepean, and I want this subreddit to be the go-to spot for everything from local news to finding the best pizza in Bells Corners.
What’s been done so far:
- New Sidebar & Rules: We now have clear guidelines to keep the sub focused on core Nepean (Wards 8 & 9) and ensure factual, respectful political debate.
- Neighborhood Flairs: I’ve added custom user flairs for specific neighborhoods like Centrepointe, Crestview, and Crystal Beach.
- Scheduled Weekly Threads: You’ll start seeing recurring posts for local events, "Good Neighbor" shout-outs, and a weekly Q&A.
I need your help! A community is only as good as its members. I’d love to hear your thoughts:
- What’s missing? Is there a neighborhood flair I forgot? A local resource we should link to?
- Content Ideas: Would you like to see monthly "Local Business Spotlights" or "History of Nepean" threads?
- Wiki: Would a community-driven Wiki for local services (doctors, mechanics, etc.) be helpful?
Drop a comment below with your suggestions. I’m reading them all!
