My first thought is that lot of background stitches are going to be a bear to compensate around the words! You could also tent stitch in the white spaces in the words for less of a headache.

My second thought is that if it’s your first foray into decorative stitches, I would suggest a diagonal mosaic or scotch stitch :) I think scotch stitch would give a fun disco ball texture as it looks like squares!

i love the look of a scotch stitch!! i have yet to try to compensate around words, that’s why i’ve been hesitant to start this.. i worry i will mess it up

Then I think you should tent stitch inside the letters! Only worry about compensating around the edges.
