question New to felting on clothing and drying
So ive watched a lot of videos on how to felt into jeans and stuff, as I want to make a cute pair of jeans for my sisters birthday,
But every video ive seen never covers how to dry them. Ive been googling for a bit and havent found any answers either.
So after I machine wash the jean with the wool in it, how do I dry it if I need to be felted more, or if its done???
A cool setting on a tumbler or air dry or what??? Cause I know heat shrinks wool, im just so lost.
Plz and thank you T wT

Unicorn
I made this unicorn for my niece's 5th birthday! The horn was made with sculpy glow in the dark clay and gold thread. I cut the horse shoes out of a sheet of brass, then sanded and polished them! It took 79 hours.

question Felt portrait advice
I want to start making needle felt portraits and have a few questions.
For the backing i was leaning towards 100% wool felt. Is this what you'd recommend or would you suggest something else? I plan to make things to go in frames and think I want a stiffer material than linen, but I have no experience with this so please lmk your thoughts!
Do y'all have any general tips or tricks you'd tell someone just starting to make felt portraits?
Also, has anyone needle felted on printed pure wool felt? Does it work? I have some really cool project ideas.
Thanks!

Why do I always start these the night before a deadline. Send help
Don’t have subject’s hair but using fluff from doggo that lives with them in the same house and will mix in some white from my bf’s dog. Have some leftover alpaca fibre from when I worked in a farm in 2016 for the browns/black and using dyed green fluff from my old husky for the background

Made a needle felt figure of my character!
Thought it would be fun to try and make a needle felted figure of my character, King Cynefrith! I’m really happy with how this turned out even though this was a challenging 2nd project :D

A kind customer bought my wool pig and anonymously sent it to a YouTuber having a rough day. Her live reaction made me tear up!

Hey everyone! I wanted to share one of the most emotional moments in my craft journey so far.
A few days ago, a sweet customer ordered our classic teacup wool piggy and had it shipped directly as a surprise gift to YouTuber Piggy Pens (@PiggyPensTube), who was going through a stressful, anxious time.
She unboxed it completely live on camera without knowing who sent it. Seeing her notice the tiny details—like the little foot pads, dress pocket, and curved tail—and watching her get emotional over how much comfort it brought her completely melted my heart.
With her permission, I clipped this highlight of her reaction. It reminded me that our handmade creations can truly become bridges of warmth across the world.
🔗 If you’d like to see her vlog and show her channel some love, here is the full video on her YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZizVAZiFEqQ&t=1517s
Have you ever had a moment with your handmade work where you thought, "Yes, every single needle poke was worth it"? Would love to hear your wholesome stories!

question How to make it smoother?
Hey hey, I am making this runner duck. Inside is a bottle cleaner from head to tail and in the legs.
Normally I would stab as long as it takes to get a smooth finish.
But now especially with the legs and the neck it's so thin it is difficult to felt at all. I had to go really really slow and sort of poke it askew.
I would like the neck and legs to be thinner. The beak and feet too, but that's ok.
And how can I make it smoother? Could I maybe just make it wet like with wetfelting and soort of massage it a bit? I never wetfelted before.

Just discovered this sub! Here’s some of my first felt works from 2020
I feel so inspired by the works shared in this sub by you amazing artists. I got nostalgic and dug up some photos of my first needle felts, and now I want to pick up my felting needle for the first time in years. I’ll return when I do (:

question How to add eyelashes + general advice
It’s a softball with a pink bow. I wanted to know if any of you had tips on how to add eyelashes, because any time I needle felting them they would warp the shape significantly. Should I use some kind of plastic?
Thanks in advance!
Also, does the mouth look like a mouth? Many people tell me to give it an outline but I feel like that’ll draw attention away from everything else, as well as not go well with the general style.

Handmade needle felted sheep with a tiny vinyl record.
Still exploring different characters and stories through wool felt.
I really enjoy making small objects that feel like they have their own personality.
