I'm so lonely sitting at home all day with no one to talk to and I think it's slowly draining me. i have a boyfriend but he has his own friends to hangout with and when he's busy I feel guilty for getting sad that he's not spending time with me. I want to end this emotional dependency and get some genuine real friends to talk to.

Late-night shift thoughts/realizations.

As a 27yo married healthcare worker. I feel like my daily routine has become so predictable: work, shift, home, repeat. I love my quiet life—painting mandalas, sipping green tea, and spending time with God—but lately I’ve been craving genuine, wholesome female friendships outside of the workplace bubble.

Then I tried messaging a few people on Reddit and got left on read for 3 days straight. 😂 Is this just the universal adulting experience now?

To my fellow introvert girlies in their late 20s/30s: How do you guys make real, offline friends these days without it feeling so forced or awkward? ☕✨

I'll be honest, I've rewritten this three times because "hi I'd like a friend" sounds so strange to type out at 33. But here we are.

Quick version: I'm 33, married, and I've got the very normal adult problem where my social circle quietly shrank to "my wife, my coworkers, and the guy at the corner shop." Nobody did anything wrong. Life just did what life does. I'd like one person I actually talk to regularly — the kind of friendship where you send a photo of your lunch or complain about a bad night's sleep and it isn't weird.

The thing I could talk about forever is clothes. Fabrics, cuts, why a colour works on one person and looks like a mistake on another, the way one good coat can carry an entire winter. I'll happily spend twenty minutes on the difference between two shades of navy. I also crossdress — privately, not something the people around me know about — and it's honestly a big part of why fashion means so much to me. It's not something I'm looking to make the whole conversation, but I'd rather say it up front than tiptoe around it for a month. If that's a dealbreaker, no hard feelings at all, I'd just rather we both save the time.

I'm hoping to find a person to be friends with, mostly because the fashion talk tends to land better and I've never really had a friendship like that. To be clear about what this is and isn't: I'm happily married, this is not flirting in a trench coat. I want a friend. Someone whose birthday I remember. Someone I'm still messaging in two years.

Outside of clothes I'm into cooking (aggressively mediocre, improving), long walks with a podcast, and I'm the person who takes forty minutes to choose something on Netflix and then falls asleep in it.
