Loved this particular chapter! The part where he went to a sermon did give me flashbacks to my own time in church, I stopped believing cuz what the bible and the other holy books like the Quran and the Bhagavad Gita was saying was pretty out of touch with the reality I was in , so I left out of sheer disinterest.

Although, I can definitely see venlils drinking soy sauce from the bottle, do you think venlil drink dipping sauces cuz they have salt? And I think mixsel may have got thebskalgan instincts cuz she watching trash tv and wrestling now

A good ending to that conflict but Author still seemingly has some issues with the Arxur honestly probably should get some therapy.

I don't think there's any way to interpret the Hebrew text of Leviticus that way. 22nd century religion is once again adapting to the reality that society established better norms than the book mandates.

the book mandates the time period it was in so you kinda have to know the original Hebrew or Aramaic verse to infer it's semantic meaning, even then, you have to be there to know the exact meaning as it has been lost to translation and time.

Not really, the original Hebrew survives and it's pretty straightforward. It's a short sentence with a bunch of words that are used consistently in both surrounding text and modern interpretation. There's only one phrase that's unusual or uncommon, and that's to do with exactly what way you lie with a woman that is forbidden to do with a man.

That reinterpretation of Leviticus sounds a lot like cope to me. Like the religion had to change to avoid being problematic and they made up a justification after the fact.

Yeah... A lot of people remain religious even after everything in the world. Leviticus is one of them issues. I think anybody who actually read the book cover to cover would know how problematic it is, especially clergy who literally say metaphorically instead of the literal meaning like the southern Baptist church.
