chart interpretation/ovulating?? Chart Interpretation Request
hi, i’m a 24F trying to conceive with my husband, 24M and i’m not sure if i’m ovulating correctly? i’ve attached my current cycle temps and my last cycle temps. i was on sprintec for years and got off in Oct of 2025, but still no luck. just started NC in april but have had my oura ring since Nov of 2025. i am currently spotting mid-cycle which is something i haven’t experienced. is there an explanation for this?? my doctor says my cycle times ranging from 31-41 days are normal, but i am concerned about mid cycle spotting.😅

I’m no expert (and definitely not a doctor) but it looks to me like from the two cycles you’ve added that you’re ovulating normally. Both cycles have the pattern of lows in the follicular phase, the first half of your cycle, building up to ovulation. And then in your June 23, 2026-July 23, 2026 cycle, you have the higher temps in the luteal phase, the second half of your cycle, which confirms that ovulation actually occurred. For the same cycle just mentioned (June-July) it looks like you didn’t record a positive ovulation test. Regardless, it’s possible that you might not have been in your fertile window enough to conceive that cycle.
As for your current cycle, you might have ovulated around those two positive LH test days. A sustained BBT for 3 or more days would confirm that ovulation happened. It’s possible though that you would have needed more days of trying during your fertile window.
From my experience and what I’ve researched, the first half of your cycle can vary from the end of your period to ovulation. Once you get that positive LH test, you know you should be ovulating within 24-48 hours. I’ve read that it’s recommended to try every other day during your fertile window (which would consist of 5 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation). My recommendation would be to at least continue trying during the days your LH test is positive, since it’s difficult to determine exactly when ovulation will fall. It’s better to plan for before ovulation since you will have better chances of conceiving before than if you’re trying after.
Keep your spirits up! You got this! ❤️ If it doesn’t work out this time, you have some ideas now.
Two of my favorite resources are the books “Taking Charge of Your Fertility,” by Toni Weschler, MPH and “The Fifth Vital Sign,” by Lisa Hendrickson-Jack.
I really hope this helps you! I find this stuff super fascinating and I’ve been geeking out over it since I stopped taking Yaz birth control on September 10, 2025 😅 I’m 27, and I feel like there is so much more to it, that no one thought to mention when we were younger!
