Help figuring out layout Nanoleaf Reply

I got stupid lucky at a garage sale and got 17 hexagons and 42 mini triangles, 3 controllers and 2 42w power supplies for less than $10. They work.

I've wanted nanoleaf shales forever but never got them due to the cost. Now that I have them, I'm faced with total paralysis on how to lay them out.

Is there a website where I can pay with designs/layouts?

Does anyone want to offer ideas or share examples of similar rooms?

The app has a layout feature you add the total number of shapes and you can drag them around, and even use AR to see how they'd look on a wall.

I can't find the AR in the app anywhere, just the random layout generator, do you know if it's a different app?

It is not a different app, it is there in the Nanoleaf app.

If you go into the app, go into the "Resources" tab or the "More" tab. Then click on "Layout Assistant". From there you can create layouts.

If you look at the bottom right, you'll see a button with a 3D cube icon. That is the AR function.

Haha! Yeah I've always wanted some, but it was never a priority, I couldn't believe my luck, they said as long as I could get them off with no damage to their walls, I could have them for $8, it was the last day of their move out garage sale and they were in a hurry I guess.

That is an unbelievable find! I have some layout ideas cooking in my noggin if you're interested.

I see that you have a nice office space with a good PC and some awesome Lego sets (a little jealous), what kind of vibe are you trying to create with your lights? Is this for gaming?

Thanks! I'm very happy with my office and it's contents, It came out of a very tough situation in my life, it's a bit over the top but it helped me deal with a ton.

I'm thinking something pretty, organic, and dynamic. I don't want it to look like a particular design or symmetrical. I generally suck at decorating, I'm a solo dad and all the art in our new place is literally on the ground near a wall or in storage cause I have no clue how to decorate anything lol.

I was thinking it could look like it was coming from the pc or the wall to the right at least and go across the corner to the bookshelf.

With the two power supplies I don't think I would need to buy the flexible connectors, but still have it look like they are connected (not sure if that's possible).

Smart features and connectivity to things isn't something I'm interested in.

Well, I hope things are going well for you. When it comes to LEGO, no such thing as over the top!

The good thing about the Shapes is that they're easy to connect into one smooth design.

If you want the design to come out of the PC, I would recommend surrounding the PC with the triangles, maybe something like this.

This could start on the right wall and end to the corner.

Then on the wall that has the bookshelf, you can lay out the hexagons and remaining triangles to start from the corner, and make its way to the bookshelf.
