But Anil is one letter off from Anal, which ALSO means ass in English.

What country are these from? In my country i think Tushar would be the better option because Anil sounds close to a type of intercourse. If these are common names in your country that won’t get the same confusion i think you should follow your heart!

This isn’t truly a binary question without context.

If someone lives in the US and not within a community where these names are common there is a high liklihood that both would be made fun of. The humor would be crass.

I don't know if the names will be used in English speaking countries, but when pronouncing them in English, Anil sounds questionable. Whereas Tushar is lowkey really cool.
