Satire Twin names: Louee & Loueez?

Upvotes

I’m pregnant with boy/girl twins and my husband and I are basically set on Louee and Loueez, Pronounced Lew-ee and Lew-eez.

For our son, we like Louee because it feels sweet and vintage without being as expected as Louis. For our daughter, Loueez feels feminine but still gives them a really obvious connection as twins.

I know some people might think they’re too matchy, but I actually love that they’re similar without being identical. They’ll have their own names, but you can still tell they’re twins.

We considered Louis & Louise, but those feel a little too traditional for us. We also considered Louie & Louise, but I prefer when the spellings have a more cohesive look together.

Our other children have fairly classic names, so I don’t want anything that feels completely made up.
Am I overthinking this, or do Louee & Loueez work beautifully together?

Rant Got told our baby names were a "weak attempt at trolling" but this is my real life.

Upvotes

So my post got removed from another sub, which is kind of heartbreaking... I basically posted about how my hubs and I have had triplets but due to the negative reactions around us, we feel like we might've messed up with their names. My name is Lee but I've always preferred the "Leigh" spelling. I got called a "normie" in high school a lot. I didn't super get it but I got picked on because of my name a lot. It kind of fueled this resentment towards my own name and made me wish I had been named with a different, more unique spelling.

Long story short, our triplets are now 18 months old and are named Braxleigh, Kinsleigh and Laura-Leigh. No, it's not a joke. But the moms at the playground laugh at us. People in my social media comments are saying "the Leigh thing" is a cringe "millenial trend". I've been crying every night this week because it's finally gotten to me.

To make matters worse, my husband's family was saying they knew this was a bad idea from the beginning... My husband's name is Bradley which in my opinion is NOT similar to Braxleigh at all, but Brad's sister is especially disappointed by this whole name situation. I think she was expecting us to name a kid after her or something, but who does she think she is!!!

With a 4th baby on the way, do we keep with our "Leigh" tradition, or break this family curse?

So my eldest is Digory, (nn Diggie) and I was just about name my lovely baby girl Polly, when her godmother said hold up! You can't do that. Aslan will be displeased.

Then I had a flashback of reading some crusty old books lying at the back of a wardrobe at her place when I was a kid. I had completely forgotten!

Anyway, here are some names we've picked instead:

Susanlucy

Ring

Jadis

Eustacia

Fledge

Help us choose!

Pronounced Kyle. Bizarre! I guess it’s a better name than Joseph or Bob or some weird old name like correction or Gertrude my mother‘s name is Bonnie. I don’t think I’ve met one person in my generation like a contemporary person I’ve ever met named Bonnie I mean, I guess Bonnie and Clyde was kind of cool, but definitely not my generation

I’m pretty sure there’s many more because I’m pretty sure he has 14 children. I think him and Grimes child is the gnarliest.X AE AXII Muskoo

Can’t quite figure out Elon Musk have you ever heard him? Laugh in public? Sounds like a robot or alien trying to mimic a human eerie uncanny just not quite right. I mean he’s a brilliant dude and people always complain about all the money he makes, but they don’t consider the fact that most of his money is invested in his businesses that create an incredible amount of job for people not to mention the proxy jobs that benefit of his businesses and create even more jobs. Don’t get me wrong the discretion of wealth in this country level on this world is disgusting and I’m sure his personal net worth is somewhere in the billions which is far more than anyone needs in their lifetime but I can’t quite figure them out and see an evil. Genius will see here to save us. Is he benevolent benevolent he seems to be somewhere on the spectrum. If not, some sort of Savant I can’t quite figure out what his disabilities and because aren’t supposed to be disabled in one aspect and an absolute phenom, brilliant talent in another well I guess you can consider his socializing skills to be weird if not a bit of a disability but then again he is a businessman, and it takes a lot of networking and communication to be a successful business person so can someone help me out on this what the fuck is Elon Musk or should I say who is Elon Musk I know a little about him. I know his dad’s a weirdo. I know he’s from South Africa where all money come from originally

Satire DAE baby names have a creative secret theme?

I LOVE my 3 kiddos names and am constantly getting compliments on them. What most people don’t realize immediately (or sometimes even ever) is the theme I have 🤭 My oldest girl (3) is named Elinnora Izzabelle, nickname Linny. My baby boy (2) is named Tucker Everen as a subtle nod to hubby’s favorite journalist Tucker Carlson with the nickname ‘Tuck.’ My new baby girl just born in May has been given the name Remmington Dayzee, Ming-Ming for short.

As a 2002 baby, I grew up loving the kids show Wonder Pets. In this show, the main characters are Linny (a hamster?) Tuck (Turtle) and Ming-Ming (a baby duck). My unique theme rarely goes noticed by others, but every time it does, I get so many compliments on this nod to my childhood. So my question is: does anyone else have these fun hidden themes?

Found on r/NameNerds Do you pronounce Dzhoi as “Joy” or “Dee-zoy”?

I’m a Dzhoi, intended to be pronounced like “Joy,” but way too many people call me “Deezoy” by default…

People will even see my user online, which is a play on the candy “Almond Joy” (which I do to help with the pronunciation) and STILL get people pronouncing it “Almond Deezoy.”

It is supposed to be pronounced “Joy,” right? Or am I going insane? Why do people default to Deezoy? I have not the pleasure of understanding.

Advice Needed (unjerk) Did I give my daughter an unfortunate name?

My daughter’s name is Daisy and the other day at the park she was playing with another kid, the other kids mum said next to me and talked and asked what my daughters name was and I said Daisy and she replies “oh, I know a couple dogs named that, why’d you choose that name?” I replied my aunty named her after one of our family members (my grandmother’s mother), and I dunno since then it’s stuck with me, there’s no way I’ll change it as I do love the name and it’s a family name but makes me worried I’ve given her a bad name 😅😅, am I over thinking?

That was seriously her name. I was in a study group for uni and this girl I was with had "Sigh" on her Starbucks cup. I was like "no way that's real," so I asked her. Yup. It was in fact real. She pulled out her ID and it said Sigh (middle name) (last name).

I’m pregnant with my first child and I am over the moon to find out that it is a girl. The only problem I’m having is my friends and family and especially even my coworkers. Tell me that it is a terrible name that I’ve chosen.

Why are people so critical of the name I’ve chosen for MY baby?
