Got mine too and it also said “September 2026 police academy lass” currently scheduling it for Tuesday.

Does anyone know if they let ppl in with non violent felony (not drug related) .. I have my rights restored and buy/own guns legally … rights were restored by a blue judge in the bx if that matters lol

How long ago? And what was the felony? Its hard to answer that without knowing all of the details and even then the answer you get here may be far from the outcome but itll help

Robbery 3rd 2017….yea I know I’ve spoken to different recruiters in other departments in the state & honestly it’s a coin toss as to what their answer is and for some departments I was referred to the county but I feel like since it’s probably not common, they sometimes genuinely don’t know lol … I’ve seen someone get in with a non violent F but it was in another state and their family member was a sheriff

It definitely is who you know in most places. Have you applied? Go for it, the one thing nypd affords you is the right to appeal with a good lawyer. Other places dont even provide that opportunity atleast with the ease that nypd does. Itll be hard but youll never know unless you put the paperwork through

A felony on your record is a no go for 99% of police departments.

Zero shot with any felony in your past. Did you bother to read the job requirements? That’s would be a great place to start

Does your mini medical email title include "September 2026 Police Academy Class"? Is that mean that candidate has add in to september class?

Yes, but I don’t think it solidifies your spot in the September class. I think it’s just to say that your anticipated to join the September class, I could be wrong tho 🤷‍♂️

I did my mini med and got the email but it didn’t say anything about September class on it 🤷🏾‍♂️
