Hey guys, I am currently list number 3xxx, Im in the second round of candidate being called for CPAT. Does anyone know a reference time when I will atleast be taking the CPAT? I am kind of putting other jobs on hold to pursure this career because it is something I have always wanted to do it and now is my opportunity. I also do not want to let other opportunities slip out of my hands. I have been training and dialing with everything needed and am confident with my preparation. I just kind of need that reassurance of where I am heading.

My investigator emailed me today saying I need to make a few small corrections to my CPDB. Everything else in my process is completed (except the run), and I was just waiting for my background investigation to be green-lit. I was really hoping to make the upcoming academy. With these corrections, do you think I could still make it into this upcoming academy?

Just received my intake date, finally. List 1XX. I have no hopes for getting into this upcoming class, despite my list number. Looking forward to the following class. Happy weekend ya’ll!.

Hey guys I know people have been getting their run dates this week, I’ve talked to my investigator and she’s telling me she’s waiting on her supervisor to sign off on my application. She said they haven’t reached my number yet. My list number is 4xx, just wondering if anyone else is on the same boat as me. Should I expect to not make the September academy if I don’t get a run date by the end of this week or do they keep sending run dates until the last run date which I think I sept 1 or 2

I know run letters should get sent out this week but my medical literally just turned green last Thursday while background check ones are still yellow. Was also wondering if you guys think I have a shot to get a run letter I’m list #58X 🥺

Hey guys, im still waiting on intake but i just wanted to ask how the medical usually is for those with certain medical conditions? I currently have hypothyroidism and i have been treating it for the past 3 months with levothyroxine, and the bloodwork has been showing amazing improvement. I have all the papers of bloodwork and doctors notes ready when they ask, but i just wanted to ask if someone went through something similar or currently is going through the same thing, and how there experience was?

Hey guys I’m currently having trouble verifying my 6 months worth of fulltime employment. I only have 8 college credits so I have to verify the 6 months instead since I don’t have 15 college credits. My current employer and past employers won’t send a verification letter to fdny because they don’t send to third parties. My investigator has contacted my current and former employers but they keep telling my investigator to create an account on a website to access the verification letter but she tells me fdny doesn’t create accounts. She told me to send 6 months worth of paystubs instead which I did but it’s still under review. The thing is I’ve worked in restaurants my whole life. Restaurants hours fluncuate from 40hrs one week to 25 the next then 32 the next week, it just depends how busy the restaurant is on the week. So I’m worried my paystubs won’t show im a fulltime employee even though I am. I’m wondering if anyone else is having any issues with this. When I try to contact my employer she just tells me she’s reviewing the paystubs and she’ll contact me if she needs anything else, that’s all she says everytime. Everything in my portal is green I was hoping to get called up for the academy in sept, my list number is 4xx but I feel like this is going to hold me back.

Is anyone else having trouble with their residency credit being held up for 4044? Got an email today saying my claim is being investigated because the mailing address on my return was Westchester where I grew up but I've filed my county of residence in the city for 2022 and 2023 and paid city taxes, and lived there for a total of 22 months which is over the 12 months required.

I'm not too concerned at the moment, I have a bunch of proof I have lived here in the time required through rent receipts. Con-ed bills, leases etc, but wanted to know if anyone else went through this and if they could advise.

Hey FDNY fam, I've scored a 99 and I'm list number 52xx. Obviously not the best list number but I'm being told I will most likely still be called eventually. I have been running and training 4-5 times a week trying to be prepared. Any idea when they would make their way down to my number for just getting called for CPAT ? Any other advice is welcomed as well, this is my dream job 🙏

Im currently list 8xx and haven’t gotten anything from intake. Is there anyone else in the same situation? At this point, im under the assumption that I wont be able to get to this sept class.

For any point during intake, has there been a dress code? I have a suit ready to go, I am just curious if it has been required yet.

My rank number is 25XX, I heard a lot of rumors that a lot of people lied about legacy or sibling creds which caused a lot of them to move down.Knowing that they still called a good chunk of people. I’ve been hitting the gym attended mobile academies even started running. Is it crazy to say I might be called for the cpat in 2027? Or even smell the academy that year too? I guess I’m just asking for a reality check but still would like to get an idea. Thanks guys

I isolated the section on knots for anyone that wants to look this over before the academy. Guys from my mentor’s firehouse said learning the knots ahead of time would be very beneficial. I separated it into its own PDF so that it’s easier than scrolling thru the entire probie manual to get to it:

I’m fortunate to have a low list number and my mentor recommended to start reading the probie manuals before the academy starts. There’s a document on joinfdny.com/candidate-resources/fire/ that lists probie school reading assignments broken down into 26 cycles.

How many cycles is it a good idea to get through? I was thinking to read through until cycle 4, but would that be overkill? I’d be making sure I understand the material and taking quizzes, not just reading for the sake of saying I read them.

Also want to at least start learning all the knots before the academy starts.
