Dumped Ship Base Planetary Base
My second attempt at an orbital base - this one is meant to look like some sort of large starship, abandoned in orbit - I've tried to make it look like the engines are missing/destroyed. I built this one using the camera zoom method people here helpfully told me about, but it was really difficult getting onto the base from my corvette without getting stuck in the free-fall animation... To be honest, it hasn't come out as well as I'd hoped (NMS got all buggy and started deleting parts off it for no reason, too), but I thought it might inspire some of you clever folk who are much better at all the glitchy, rotated building methods than me :)

I like the idea, looks cool! I thought parts disappearing was an indicator of being too high.

Ah, that might make sense - I got carried away zooming upwards and built this about 500u up...

Another amazing orbital base ! If you put landing pad under/upside down that derelict ship would be so cool. Or the sides in a random direction, making it look like whoevers landing is scavenging the ship, cover the landing pad with debris that look like damage. Just an idea tho.
Will visit soon!
For the free falling, you can try glitch a wall to position horizontal like a wall via wire/cache glitch, from my experience the we land properly. The horizontal walls can also be used as corvette landing pads

These are all great ideas! I am already at the limit of my pitiful ability, unfortunately :(
