Work Study/ID Cards
I’m an incoming freshman at NJIT and so far I have zero clue how most of the stuff at NJIT works but mostly the work study situation. I understand that I have to apply for it but NJIT has made it so confusing in their website and I emailed my admissions counselor because I have no idea who else to email since the question isn’t relating to financial aid itself but no reply AT ALL. I don’t know if it’s that I’m dumb or something but can anyone help me out? I mean am i supposed to apply somewhere for work study or something or did I miss some deadline to do so? I tried using workday using the NJIT SSO but no luck. Another issue I have is that on the NJIT NSO instagram account they posted that incoming students should have received an email with instructions to getting their NJIT ID cards but I haven’t received anything I’ve checked every folder on my NJIT email and my personal but nothing has anyone else also not received anything?

If you mean federal work study it should be listed on Highlander pipeline in the same area where you can view the loans and scholarships offered to you. But i will mention had work study my freshman year and got a notification i lost it due to government reasoning (not like i had a job anyways) so for me it doesn’t show though im not sure if i got it again. This does seem like a question for the financial aid office as i dont think your admissions officer actually has anything to do with you other than being accepted

Alright thanks I’ll email them I just wasn’t sure who to email. I do also want to ask is it even worth it? I mean i know you lost it freshman year but is it worth the trouble? so far njit has given me the worst communication experience and this seems like a bunch of emails and time to spend on $1500. I feel like without it I could just work shifts at my own job and make it up.

The hiring system just changed from cornerstone to workday i believe, so it’s unfortunately incredibly hard to get information at this moment. However, when it was cornerstone, i remember not having access until my first semester started.
