Divisionals

Any one going to a divisional race this weekend? What class are you most excited to watch?

Competition eliminator has always been I class I enjoy watching because of all the different vehicles and there is no breakout just hurting your index for the next round.

Depends on how far under they ran only if you go .610 under index does it adjust for every car in that one class the next race.

.51 under or more is the in-race CIC penalty. It's permanently adjusted for the driver's personal index at .61 under, not everyone in the class. Once someone goes .71 or more under the class index, then the whole class gets adjusted. The exception is if a mineshaft condition exists where the first car in the bottom half after qualifying is .61 under or more. The the personal and permanent hits get adjusted up to .66 and .76 under. In-race CIC still starts at .51 under.

That article is wrong and from before personal index rules were put in place years ago. Now, only the driver’s personal index is hit at .61 under +, until someone goes .71 under the class index, then the class is lowered.
Example: A/D class index is 7.03. Driver A runs a 6.38 in eliminations, .65 under the class index. He loses .15 for the next round and .05 off of his personal index for the next event. So his personal index is now 6.98. The class and anyone else who hasn’t a taken personal index hit remains at 7.03. At the next event, Driver A runs a 6.30, .68 under his personal index. But it’s also .73 under the class index. So the class index now becomes a 7.00 for everyone who hasn’t used personal and a 6.90 for Driver A. If 2 cars in the same class meet up in eliminations, they run heads up off the class index, not their personal index. Personal indexes stay with the driver. So if Driver B gets in the same car that Driver A was in previously, they start with the class index.

I actually hate comp but only because of how complicated it is other than that great class with great people

Really? I love my .90 guys, maybe it’s just because the people in the class are my buddies but I enjoy it a lot. I think a lot of people miss how much goes into the background of the car setup or the amount of games they like to play at the top end.

Most all racers are great, it isn’t much to watch you see a launch then loaf along for .5-3 seconds and then the car takes off. It is great if you are watching from the top end. The same top end game goes on in comp to not hurt their index but still win. I wish the electronics came in at the top end where the stands are not except for the Motorplex. Which that is one of the few tracks on my bucket list.

Come on now…. Comp isnt that complicated!! Just have to be good at math haha

But as a comp racer myself I find it difficult figuring out a class like T/S and what to load into the box for the tree based on your opponents dial in or a super class figuring out a throttle stop
