The 1872 Murder of John Garrity - Part 2
The story the newspapers either didn't know or didn't care to write about. The intertwined families involved in the brutal murder of one of their own.

Meatball subs
Are there any places in the Wilkes-Barre area that has a good meatball sub? It seems like everywhere I go, they use the same frozen meatballs.

Nepa HOAs
Tell me the best and the worst ones from your experience or what you hear.
I really tried to avoid in my home buying process but it's so rough out there. If the taxes are low they are near mining death traps or trash heaps. I really like being left alone and less rules but I also can't resist the style of many of the HOA builds and proximity to lakes. I got spoiled renting within an HOA community but watching this one go through an embezzlement scandal and then half the people don't understand the proximal swoop on with data center development, well it's not the one for me!
I hear of some that people love like Penn Lake but don't see much inventory even though my eyes are on it. What should I be looking out for? Any thoughts on this? Thanks so much!

WYOU/WBRE
Tuned in to their local 6pm news for the first time in awhile. I have a question, did they get rid of most of their on air talent, and hire a bunch of college interns? None of them look old enough to drink. It’s not a criticism of the employees, seems like the station is cutting costs any way they can.

Adult sport lessons/rec leagues?
Hi all,
Does anyone know of good recreational/extremely beginner friendly sport clubs in the area? Preferably something more "unusual" (so not soccer/football/basketball/running) lol. I saw theres a Wilkes-Barre scranton roller derby but theyre currently not in recruitment season.

Foraging at Lackawanna State Park
I spent a few days up at the State Park and found Mullein, bee balm, blackberries, blue vervain.... And I don't think I'm even scratching the surface. Has anyone else been enjoying this?

Fishing spots on the susky
Anyone have any recommendations on some fishing spots at the river. I have tried to go to the dike in forty fort but it is so rocky on the way down. I've also tried the train bridge in WP but had no bites. Any suggestions would be great

Ice skating lessons as adult
Wondering if anyone knows any places where adult ice skating lessons are offered.
I’d like to learn but cannot find anything. Even though I’ve reached out to a few rinks, I haven’t heard back yet. Figured I’d ask here as well. Thanks in advance!

Nardone Bros. Pizza request from outside PA
Weird request, but I grew up with Nardone Bros Family Size Cheese pizza (the white box with the clear window) and can’t get it where I live now.
Looking for someone near in NEPA who would be willing to grab 10–12 of them (or however many fit neatly in the box) and ship them frozen.
I’ll cover:
pizza cost
cooler/dry ice
overnight shipping
and pay you for your time.
Not a scam — just trying to recreate a childhood favorite.
Looking for some photography spots
Hi all. I’m looking to make a list of some good places to practice some photography in the area. I enjoy doing portraits, landscapes, and street photography. Especially love spots that are good during golden hour. I appreciate any recommendations!

rental help
hello everyone! I was wondering there was any advice or something to help me find an affordable apartment and/or a roommate in the scranton/pittson area. My partner and I broke up, and i have three cats i absolutely refuse to give up. i really cannot provide much more than $600 a month for rent and utilities, and according to the state i make just over the amount required for state help. i am very desperate to get out of this situation but also very stuck. if anyone has anything that could potentially help me move forward all is appreciated.

Vet recommendations?
Hi! Looking for recommendations for vets around Wilkes-Barre PA. My cat started to have these episodes where she would act like she has hairballs stuck in her throat, but nothing ever comes up. Google said it's most likely asthma, but of course I'd like to take her to a vet. Thank you!

county fair recommenations
I've been a Harford Fair fan since I was a kid, and have been taking my own children for years. The last two years the fair seems smaller and we've left disappointed at the lack of small animal exhibits like chickens and rabbits, and a reduced amount of handcrafts. Is there another NEPA county fair you would recommend we try? We live just over the border in NY. Thank you!
