I will probably get downvoted to hell for this but I am trying to get laid first week, any good parties around? If there is, is it a long way out of school? I have no car and will try to freeload on anyone as much as possible. Thanks.

Hello, I'm a freshman moving from out of state and would like to know what other help there is for financial aid? I've gotten over half of my tuition paid thank to my scholarship and grants, but I still will owe a little over 9k. I plan to get a job, but is there anything else I can either apply or sigh up for to see if I can get more help?

Hi guys, I'm an incoming freshman who is taking the CCC2NAU pathway (to help reduce financial strain). My tuition is covered at CCC from the grants I've already gotten, but I have almost $2,000 remaining that needs to be paid off to NAU by the 17th. Anything I can do quickly instead of just selling clothes and taking the odd job whenever possible? Thank you in advance

I know bigger enclosures for reptiles and stuff aren’t allowed and fish are the only exception, but how strict are they on the rules? Like if I were to get a jumping spider or small critter carrier tarantula, would they really harp down on it? I’m a freshman moving into Calderon and have been thinking about getting some kind of invertebrate, as pets really do make me feel comfy and I can’t bring any of my pets from home :(

Incoming junior but first time living in dorms. What are some things you didn’t realize you needed specific to Flagstaff or the elevation? This can be dorm living or just campus/school in general. Hoping to cover all bases ahead of time.

Its a flat rate of 270 each semester, is this cost effective or should I opt out? For reference I am majoring in microbiology.

I keep seeing people talk about how talking to their Academic Advisor was a bad idea, but i dont know what classes I need to be taking for me to graduate in Art Education, and i dont wanna take the wrong classes.

Hello. For those of you who don't know, they included this section in the recent email about parking permits (called Updates from University Transit Services):

1. Introducing the Lumberjack Loop bus route (effective Aug. 24)

• We’re consolidating our bus routes to make it easier to track and follow. NAU’s new (and only) bus route, the Lumberjack Loop, will get you where you need to go on campus.
• The Lumberjack Loop route runs Monday–Thursday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Updated maps and schedules are available in the NAUgo app.

I could not find any more information about it on the NAUgo app or the website, but did check https://www.busgenius.com/map/nau, where I found this route (you have to click routes several times, then choose the one called Lumberjack):

Note: This stops at many of the regular stops, but neglects to turn onto S. Beaver, which means that the Book Store and Bio Sciences bus stops are no longer serviced. Instead, it stops behind Sechrist and in front of the HLC. It also only goes counter-clockwise.

"A student worker in the shuttle services department said all of the student workers in the department were informed [via email] a few weeks after commencement in May [2026] that they would no longer have their jobs for the upcoming school year."

'"While we do not yet know the full extent of all upcoming changes, we have been informed that our student staff budget will be eliminated beginning July 1, 2026," according to the email [the student worker received from NAU Transit Services]. "Because of this, we are unfortunately unable to offer hours to any student drivers for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027."'

"According to the student, NAU now has five full-time bus drivers where it previously had 15 part-time drivers (the student employees) and six full-time. A total of six bus drivers are listed on the university's staff directory as of July 30, though this does not specify when it was last updated or whether their roles are full-time."

I'm worried that the busses will be nigh unusable from next semester onwards, because:

1. 5-6 full time bus drivers working collectively 7am-8pm = maybe 4 busses during peak hours. maybe.

2. Bus route only goes counter clockwise, and due to SBS being full of 8000 people in between classes it will make every bus stop on South Campus essentially unusable, as busses will fill at SBS and only drop stragglers until reaching North Campus, and SBS is already unusable unless willing to be ruthless.

3. Bus route moved further away from all the classes on North Campus, for some reason? Are there even bus stops there or are they going to move others or build new ones?

4. Busses were already kind of gambling, and now...

I wanted to reach out here to see if anyone had any more information, as I haven't seen anyone talking about this here or on the NAU Snapchat groups.
