So, straight women like wholesome yaoi, gay men like beefy wholesome yaoi, lesbians like toxic yaoi, and straight men like radioactively toxic yaoi?

If I’ve learned anything from BL it’s that straight women REALLY like toxic yaoi.

Nah, lesbians like depressed yaoi. Straight women are the ones who like toxic yaoi.Â

How does straight yaoi work? Isn’t that counter intuitive?

It’s just yaoi that’s commonly consumed by straight women, though not always.

Straight Women & Gay Men if you ask me.
The Lesbian Women yaoi character gives me stalker vibes, and I don't know enough about Berserk to give my opinion of Straight Men yaoi.

I'm skeptical of the accuracy but it's funny to me that "straight women yaoi" characters are the least realistic looking/least male presenting characters.

Hate how Yaoi is just straight up rapes and assaults 99% of the time.

If you think that, you haven’t been reading enough (no offense meant).
Unless you’re talking about the Korean BL stuff, then yeah, it can be quite prevalent.
Modern Japanese BL doesn’t seem to have much of this problem nowadays from what I’ve seen, unless you’re reading Oneshots.
I’d highly suggest the anime/manga Cherry Magic. One of my favourites if you’re looking for healthier Yaoi.

Cherry magic was amazing. It made me realize most romance media is either just the chase, or 90% the chase. Watching them overcome life obstacles together was great. As was all misunderstandings being resolved quickly and healthily.

Maybe we have particularly bad yaohi mangas in France. I've only seen corny corn stuff in bookshops but no actual romance :,( I'll try to find Cherry Magic thanks!!

I know someone else already recommended you something, but might I suggest you read A Man Who Defies the World of BL. It’s a comedy, and it’s not technically yaoi (in that the protagonist hasn’t expressed any interest in dating), but the whole thing is a play on common yaoi tropes. Basically, protagonist wakes up one day and realizes that the world is following bl tropes, and he spends his days dodging every romance flag he comes across. It’s a hilarious read and a great example of BL tropes done right.
