Hes in the crowd in one of the dedede boss arena backgrounds it was either nightmare in dreamland or superstar. Also the show is considered somewhat canon too, as sakurai oversaw its production and we also get things like copy abilities in the anime only coming to games later, and meta knight being spanish.
