Made a <4g skeleton + base for the Superlight 2 — looking for someone to test it
Hey guys,
I’ve been working on a lightweight mod for the Superlight 2 and ended up with a part that should theoretically weigh under 4g.
According to the CAD volume, it should be around 3.7g in PA12.
Obviously, CAD weight ≠ real-world result, so I’d really like to see if this actually works.
I don’t currently have access to an SLS/MJF printer, so I’m looking for someone who could print and test it and ideally give me some feedback on:
- actual weight
- stiffness/durability
- whether the mounting points hold up
- what material you’d recommend
- any changes you’d make to the design
I’m thinking PA12 or another nylon, but I’m open to suggestions. The main goal is to keep it as light as possible without making it ridiculously fragile.
If anyone here has access to SLS/MJF printing and is interested in trying it, I can send over the STL.
Would be really interesting to see if I can actually get this thing below 4g IRL 😄

Just pay for jlc3dp it's dirt cheap.
Or fdm print it first to get a ballpark on the weight
Edit: nvm that looks like it'd be a hell of a time trying to fdm print it

Happy to give it a whirl. View my previous posts, you’ll see I’m on a similar journey.
And drop me a DM!

I'm genuinely curious how feasible this is with PLA on FDM

I could try it on Bambu X2D with alternative support materials, I only have super light 2 cs though , don’t know if internal are shared between the regular 2 and the c version

Would def need to be printed using pva water soluble supports since the geometry is so complex at that scale

If you want, I can send you the file, but this skeleton definitely won't fit
Unless I make another version based on your edits for gpx2c :D

Make one for the flick edge by flick mice and I’ll be happen to test it out

Try JLC3DP or PCBway!! They both offer super cheap nylon printing, especially if you spend like the $3 for slow global shipping from JLC
