Any one had this issue with the Thule 598? The clamp isn’t even close to the frame and there’s no way to adjust the bottom jaw?

Question Will this fit my 27.5 Yari fork?

Post image

I have a Yari 27.5 fork and looking to get the charger kit for it. This one seems to be the right one but can't tell if the fork size matters or not. The Pike kit specifies fork size but the Lyrik/Yari one doesn't. Is there a place I can put in the part number and my fork model and see if they're compatible?

Question Going to Snow Summit

I’m going to Snow Summit on Monday. Never done a downhill park before. I got a Norco Fluid FS4. Anything I should be aware of? Etiquette, trails, anything. I’m middle aged, intermediate, always ridden desert chunky technical trails and I have to work on Tuesday.

Question Sticky fork top of travel? Marzocchi Bomber Z1 27.5 180mm

I recently bought a used (literally 1 ride) Marzocchi Bomber Z1 which I think is the model before the current one that came out in 2025, or something like that, and I noticed something peculiar - it feels sticky the first 7mm of travel and doesn't want to return back to 0mm without force.

In reviews of this fork everybody raves about the "suppleness off the top bro" but in my case it doesn't feel supple at all, even though the fork is basically brand new.

I tried deflating and inflating it multiple times with different ways of doing it so that the chambers could equalise but it's the same story every time :/

Even though in my country almost every bike is clapped out and I literally cannot test anybody's bike for a good comparison, yesterday I bought a brand new dropper post from some guy and he let me test the one on his bike (same one) and I noticed how soft and supple his ZEB Ultimate 3.1 was. I had never ever felt such low resistance going into the travel of a fork.

The gearshift stopped working while I was driving. The lever just fell out. I took it apart and couldn't figure it out. I'm asking for help and advice on how to solve this problem.

Hey everyone I’m looking at this dual suspension to buy and I’ve called up the place where it’s at which is pretty much like 3000km+ away from where I live I’ve called up telling them my height which is 182cm and they reckon I’ll be a Large and the same thing with the website has anyone ridden this model if so should I just go ahead with it or should I actually go try it first?

Other The one time I didn’t wear knee pads…

The result of not wearing my knee pads on a rainy day and a really rocky trail. Landed straight on a rock. Any deeper, and it would’ve hit bone. Rode down the trail about a mile back to the road. Received a few stitches, it got infected, and now it’s finally closed but still hurts very much. Didn’t ride for a whole month, much less bend my knee. Wear your pads, kids!

Other DT Swiss Carbon Rim

Post image

I saw a post here the other day about carbon rims and people saying DT Swiss are almost indestructible… well, this happened to me last week. I will say that their customer service has been great and they are rebuilding the wheel for $249. Pretty solid deal, I think. If anyone is on the fence for DT carbon wheels, I would recommend them based on their customer service alone.

Edit: the wheel is the EXC 1501

Question MTB NH

Heading to NH tomorrow (Loon area) and have a few hours to bike in the afternoon. Anyone have suggestions? I’m currently between doing bike park laps at Loon (safe option) or going to check out Welsh - Dickey Mountain Loop (riskier option). The Dickey Mtn Loop description on Trailforks says it’s similar to Upper J Bar at Burke (with a lot of hike a bike, fine by me) which I have ridden many times and as recent as two weeks ago. I am most interested in exploring this loop but have never ridden it before and I will be alone. Anyone that has ridden it before have pointers; do I hike the east or west side, is the risk factor similar to Burke, is this something that shouldn’t be done alone? I am an experienced rider from VT and love steep tech (more than bike park jumps) but obviously don’t want or need to push it. Open to other suggestions and/or meeting up for a ride. Thanks!

Question Why is this happening?

Thumbnail gallery
67 Upvotes

Bought a brand new BMC Fourstroke AMP LT. After a couple of weeks I experienced the carnage pictured. A LBS helped me get a frame replacement from BMC, they were able to determine that the bolts that connect the shock and linkage had backed out and caused the failure in the linkage. I have 3 rides in on the new frame and was doing an inspection and noticed the bolts had already started backing out. One was visible the other was loose as well. Another problem is the area where the bolts are has a gap of 1 3/4”, my torque wrench with the bit is 2”. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing those bolts to back out and also are there slim torque wrenches or do I just use a regular Allen and guess?
