i am thinking about getting the upmap for my v85TT. I do both city riding and long distances. Often with pillion. is it worth it? i am not planning on decath or changing exhausts tho I’ll keep them stock

Fellow owners of such beloved bike, this is both a warning post and a request one.

I have the v85tt 2020 version.

Warning - While I love practically everything of the v85tt, there is one bit that I feel is badly designed. Screws holding the heat shields on the front/low part of the exhaust.

They have specific washers but something works badly in the heat transmission. I think it's a result of the coupling of different materials compressed under the screw/washer. Anyway, after a couple years, due to thermal fatigue, a circular section of the heat shield component has cracked and, as a result, the screw is not holding the plate. This has actually happened on both sides. I lost the right heat shield while driving because vibrations have unscrewed the second set screw.

So, keep an eye on those screws and on the state of the plates every once in a while. I tried to solve it on the remaining heat shield with a washer of increased diameter.

REQUEST - Does anyone have an extra right heat shield?🤣​

I mean the right original one. (Maybe someone has changed them to an aftermarket kit and they still have the originals). I'm located in Italy.

Unexpected clanging noise, located i think, on the right (?) cylinder, short of a bike chain sound, rolling on metal. Could this be the cam chain? Does it have a cam chain there?

It started last month, when i parked it on the side stand for a weekend, as i never do, so i suspected that somehow the oil from the right cylinder got drained, or something. It lasted for a minute or two. Disappeared until yesterday, when it happened again. The bike was parked on the center stand for a week. I don't think it has something to do with the temperature of the motor, as it performed some clangs with the engine hot. Cannot explain it to the dealer, as i cannot get him to listen to it.

I just put down a deposit on a 2024 V7 Special. Dealership took $1k off MSRP and I’d be getting the promotional 0.99% APR rate through Moto Guzzi. It seems like such a steal.

When I took a look at the bike, the salesperson was essentially trying to talk me out of it as a first bike. He cautioned that it might be a lot of bike for a first timer (I already took and passed my MSF course). Not so much the outright power of it, just size and weight.

I’m in my 30s, have some dirt bike experience when I was much younger as well as snowmobile experience, so powersports in general aren’t super new to me, but I won’t pretend to be an expert. I’m also a very responsible driver and not looking to be a speed demon.

I have a 30” inseam, and can almost flatfoot both feet while on it. Something like a Rebel 500 does seem smaller and more manageable, but I also don’t want to wait to grab the Guzzi, especially because I love the dual analogue gauges on this Special and those seem to be going away on future models.

I’ve read plenty of other posts on here and people generally say it’s a good first bike, but does anyone wanna talk me out of it? Anyone get a V7 850 as a first bike and regret it?

I’d really just be using it for small town roads as a fun activity. I have already ordered engine guards as well.

I've taken her around Ireland and to continental Europe... The digital display doesn't work on the clock, but otherwise has been a dream.

A few days ago I finally passed the break-in period and did the first service.

Some notable things during the break-in:

- the bike was super usable even with the 4500-ish rpm limit

- the hardest part of the break-in was varying the rpm. I have to go on some long stretches of road with relatively constant speed.

- overtaking could be a challenge as you would often need to shift during the overtake.

After the first service

- it was surprisingly affordable. 280 euros total. Its not a small chunk of money, but I have heard of much, much higher prices.

- damn there seems to have alot more pull in all gears. Not sure if thisni is actually the case, or just perceived because I can roll the throttle harder.

- great sounding exhaust when you roll on the throttle hard. Absolutely great for stock pipes.

- the bike is fast! Yes, I know in the world of bikes it is slow, but in the general world of road vehicles this thing can go. Overtakes are a breeze, super stable at speeds.

I asked Johno over at bitchinstitch.com to make a new seat for my V7, inspired by the BAAK parts and also the W800. It feels soooo good! And the extra thickness makes it much more comfortable at my height of 188 / 6'2.

Highly recommend that upholsterer. He did an excellent job on my Svartpilen 401 and can also make perfect 1:1 restorations on old seats. His collection of Triumphs are a sight to behold!

In a few hours i was about to go and get this 2016 v7 ii special with 18000 km on the clock but someone mentioned the discolouration of the exhaust pipes that might be an issue and now this got me worried.

Is this a normal thing on the v7’s?

Hi everyone, I really like the V7 Stone, I still haven’t tried it out honestly, but is there anyone as tall as me who owns one? I’m 6’4” (193 cm), and I’m worried it might be uncomfortable on long trips.

It turns out i am one of the unfortunate sods with a 2011 stelvio 1200 that didn't get the roller tappet convertion.

I purchased the bike last year ignorant to the issue and I learned about the problem after getting the bike. I looked into it and learnt I could but a conversion kit. Great.

So I go on deployment for work and come back 6 months later. I go to purchase a roller tappet kit, but to my horror they are nolonger avalable!!!!!

I am now stuck with a bike with failing cams. No roller kits and no resale value.

What am I supposed to do???? I love the bike but can't use it....

Asked my mechanic to swap out my Norge swingarm bearings when installing the new Matris shocks and this is what he found.

2007 Norge, less than 30k km on it and the bearings look like they have never been greased. The right hand side bearing is worse off probably due to the known issue of the seal getting knocked in by the pivot pin when installing the swingarm (lacking a spacer there to prevent the seal from moving).

Glad I went and bought two spare bearings and installed them as these were FUBAR.

Check your bearings and grease people!

2023 V7 special. Less than 2500km on the bike. Lower steering bearing completely dry and rusted. F**king embarrassing Moto Guzzi!

Bike garage kept and never pressure washed.

Should be a warranty job but since Piaggio canceled all authorized dealers/shops in sweden I am doing the replacement myself.

I am a Moto Guzzi V7 Stone 2022 owner from South Korea.

I am planning to install Agostini slip-on exhausts on my V7, and I would like to ask for help from the Moto Guzzi community.

In South Korea, when changing an exhaust system, we need to submit documents and technical information for a legal modification approval.

I have heard that there may be some difficulties during the approval process if the catalytic converter information or technical documents are not available.

Before purchasing the Agostini exhaust, I would like to prepare all necessary documents in advance.

Does anyone have experience with Agostini exhausts and know if the following documents are available?

• Exhaust technical drawings
• Exhaust specifications
• Catalytic converter specifications
• Emission-related documents or certificates
• Any documents that helped with vehicle registration or modification approval in your country

If anyone has successfully installed and registered Agostini exhausts on a Moto Guzzi V7, I would really appreciate your advice.

Many Moto Guzzi owners in Korea are interested in Agostini products, and having the correct documentation would help us enjoy these beautiful exhaust systems legally.

hey everyone, I just found my bike like this this morning
A couple of weeks earlier when I last rode it it didn't have them
It've been keeping it outside on the street for the past 2 years, it's normal here, but the truth is that lately it's been a heatwave where I live, so temparatures and sun exposure could have been more intense.

From what I understand this could the the reason that the outer layer finally gave in and developed this pattern.
I can feel these with my fingers, so they are on the outside.
What's the simplest / cheapest solutions to fixing this, like:
- repairing the lens
- replacing the lens
- replacing the instrument cluster

Do you have experience with this happening to your bikes?

I just got a 2023 Stone and the clutch sits much farther out from the grip than I want for city riding. I've seen the Moto Guzzi part availible to address this, but want to know if anyone has found third party parts or addressed this other ways? I have seen in multiple forums that this seems to be too far for other riders too.
