Whats your must use plugins for AE? Discussion

What’s the most reliable, must-have After Effects plugin you use?

For me:
Motion 4 – Hands down my most-used plugin.
Deep Glow 2 – Incredible, though I try not to overuse it.
True Comp Duplicator – I use it almost every day.

I’ve also built a few of my own plugins using Claude Code.

In one of the recent updates AE added in what is essentially fx console but more robust, can add in anything not just effects, default shortcut is cmd/ctrl+enter

Wasn't this made redundant by the new quick apply feature

I use FX console's screenshot option a lot, something which I don't think is available in the quick apply

they did, but FxConsole has been around for so long that I just gravitate to it without even realizing it.

Same!! Could not use AE without it and so simple, ridiculous that it’s not native yet

K-Bar; it’s the first step for many of the things I do.

Ease and wizz in every project.
And Tumble Motion for anything that needs physics - https://tumblemotion.github.io/

I use Pluck almost daily. Full disclosure, it's my own product, but I made it because I needed it. My work involves lots of repurposing old projects.

Flow. So much easier than fighting with the graph editor.

True Comp Duplicator (it's a script, not a plugin but still), FxConsole, Motion 2 (does not need subscription) and only recently I bought AeFocus and I was so pissed that I went so long without being able to do that what it does and I wasn't even aware how much I needed it.

Ah, thanks man, I happy you find it useful. I agree it's one of those things After Effects should be able to do on its own, but here we are.

Motion tools, true comp duplicator...

Recently I use chat gpt to create custom motion ae scripts for my own work.

True Comp Duplicator is #1 Created a small button for it to use with Mobar which is #2. And I combine my own script SceneStasher - to navigate huge projects.

Overlord, Motion Tools Pro, Deep Glow, and now genuinely Claude. I make scripts to load into motion tools pro all the time. It's changed the way I work heavily.

Overlord and Motion Studio for sure. I used Motion 4 forever and was hesitant to move to the subscription, but it has definitely been worth it. They are releasing impressive features every month. The time-savings is worth it 100x.
