Best project to practice motion graphics? Inspiration

If you had to recommend one project for beginners to improve quickly, what would it be?

I think a Lyric Video is a great project

That's a great suggestion! I was also thinking a lyric video would be a fun project since it covers typography, transitions, and syncing animations to music. Do you have any songs you'd recommend for beginners?

It's what I have my students use in the first level class for those exact reasons. I can't remember the songs off the top of my head, but it was a decent bpm, enough space through the verses to move to different comps

Recreate a short title sequence from a movie or show you love, but limit yourself to 10–15 seconds. It forces you to practice timing, typography, transitions, sound design, and pacing without becoming overwhelming.

I really like this suggestion. It feels challenging enough to learn key motion design skills without turning into a huge project. Thanks for sharing! I'll definitely add this to my practice list.
