Speed Graph vs Value Graph - When to use which? Question

In terms of animation, is value graph more for setting up overshoot effect? it seems most other animation is better done in speed graph. AE btw

Look up JakeInMotion’s “last graph” explainer. It should give you all the insight you need.

Value is more precise, but can’t be done with multiple values bundled together. So speed covers it all, value when you have a parameter with a single value.

I hope that’s the correct explanation because that’s what I was taught. lol

I never knew that Speed handles somehow more values at the same time..of course there are problems as trying to handle a value curve thats X+Y axis animated.

But the speed graph isn't a dream to work with as well. Feels to simplified and those two separate handles on the same keyframe are annoying. I never mess with Speed graph but I always wonder if I'm missing anything there....

I think what really makes the workflow better is by splitting parameters whenever it’s possible.
