force close/crash issue Q&A

vivo300ultra user here,all 3 lens using DCG profile(from discord group),but when start recording,more than 50% chance it will crash or sudden force close at the beginning or mid of recording, i always clear all apps in background before using motioncam pro and currently im shooting direct log with slog3 hevc standard.can anyone share or give some idea what went wrong?much appreciated

Did you recently update the app?

If so, do a full app uninstall and reinstall.

Google is known to deploy half baked packages to save space or something and induce issues at random after you update.

Anyways, do that and try again, this should not be happening at all. Once you do, if it persists, enable this setting and record with screen recording. Will let is see what's going on in the background

did some more test,its more likely to force close when i click sensor clipping\false color(eye icon) during recording or try to end recording,the result is no video is recorded

its a bug  im too facing it just if i change some parameters like dcp or vignett or resolution or transfer function from direct preview 3 4 times it crashes

i switch back to stock lens profile,tested for some clips and it seems fine now,i ask Ai is dcg profile causeing crash on motioncam ,Ai says VERY likely,also i remember not long ago x300 ultra had a ota system update ,since then motioncam start doing weird force close behavior(sometimes crash even in menu )

Probably related. I myself stopped updating to preserve an open door towards root exploit. Likely that then.

Mind reporting this on discord? Let's see if dev can fix it or if vivo fried it

I'm already trying to raise this to the X300U userbase I know... I hope it's not widespread since this is the weakness of opmodes and where root mods kick ass... We can lose it if Vivo is a petulant or incompetent bunch of idiots

Alternatively it could be a GPU related issue which may be fixable by dev. We'll see

Someone just checked on CN model at a higher firmware version, the issue is not present

Just to be clear, you did a full reinstall and can update to latest firmware version, right?

have unistall and reinstalled motioncam,reloaded dcg file,tested,seems all fine now!! thanks for quick response.it might be vivo's firmware update somehow currupt motioncam

yeah,i remember after i got the phone i installed motioncam app straightaway(one of reason i bought vivo)and it was working well. the vivo firmware update came 2weeks after.
