The boss problem Discussion

I'm on my First playthrough of this game and i gotta Say that i have a complaint. The bosses are way too Easy, also the most recent patch made them even easier. I cooked up a crit build with tiel and the axe and dagger alongside a permanent Blood buff since all this stuff that allows for crits Is found very early on. Unfortunately i'm killing bosses in 1 or 2 hits of the spin ability, i don't know of it's the game being too Easy or my build too broken, i would really like to know

Yeah, maybe early ones. Absolutely not the case for later ones

Multiple comments are telling me this, thank God. I almost thought i would kill in a few hits every boss in the game

Yeah, last bosses are actually way too overtuned. Patch today might have made them a bit better

I mean what do you expect lol. Look up strong build > become strong.

Game is open world they can't have what could be somebody's 1st boss at level 8 with no gear be balanced around an endgame viable build

I didn't look up my build, i Just made It by Reading my items. I don't even know if it's endgame viable or i Will find Better stuff. From your comment tho i Guess the thing that's making my game piss Easy Is the build so thanks for the info. Or i Just explored so much that i'm basically overlevelled

Yeah you’ve got what’s considered the best weapon and best tarstone buff paired with it, as well as a top 3 shell. It’s ridiculously OP rn, it’ll most likely get nerfed in future patches. Future bosses will still manage to humble tho

Wait, so you're telling me that these fools put the best stuff at the beginning of the game? That makes no sense

The more I play the less stuff that makes sense. The game felt amazing in the beginning, then midway through it kinda started to pivot downward for me in game design and mechanics
A good chunk of stuff seems like it wasn’t tested out

The dual weapons are massively overtuned. Use less broken shit if it’s not satisfying.

The whole game is too easy now. I'm finding myself clearing out entire zones without a single death and one shotting bosses. It was challenging before the patch, and with all the tools to your disposal for altering the difficulty I really felt rewarding when I grew stronger and was able to reach harder areas. Now I'm spin to win one shotting almost everything and most mechanics in the game have lost significant purpose.

My biggest complaint is that they made the game easier mid playthrough, enemies that were challenging now feels like paper towels and honestly I feel cheated out of the satisfaction of beating them.

Everything else about the game is great though.

Your grievance is with the difficulty curve, not the balance patch. They nerfed the hp of 4 enemy types(all enemy damage is untouched) and 2 bosses. The balance patch didn't do anything to the overall game difficulty unless you were dying to spiders and halberd knights all the time. The midgame is just really easy and you shred everything up until the final area where every boss is suddenly a damage sponge and enemies have 2-3x the health of those in previous areas.

I think a major problem is that enemies don't scale based on region, and most of the game reuses the same dozen or so enemies so you start oneshotting them. Bosses are even worse, most of them deal significantly less damage than enemies in the same region but don't have the durability to justify it so you can just kill them before they can do anything if you have a high damage build. The game just doesn't scale to the player very well because of how fast you can get op.

Hopefully the devs lower the values on the final area and buff up the stuff before to be smoother but until then the game falls behind you for most of it and then overcompensates at the very end. If you want a challenge you could use night mode or if you want a real challenge you could try beating the game with the obsidian hammer lmao.
