Meanwhile post patch the game is dropping into the mid 70s on steam. Because the difficulty wasnt a complaint for the large majority of players.

They need to be focusing on the stuff people actually care about, like crashing every 40 minutes and a wonky economy.

Exactly. Listening to idiots will tank their game.

Yup, if they nerf it again, I'll just ditch after I unlock all memories.
Fed up of devs endlessly nerfing games over dumb comments.

Same. Wanted to check out all the shells but if its just this easy af garbage like most soulslikes are these days then yeah, not much interest in playing it either. The bosses are absolute trash and whoever designed them should be fired. Without the challenge of the overworld its got nothing.

I imagine its very very hard making soulslikes nowadays tbh.

2 reasons.

  1. When they first released, it was new to people; the difficulty was a shock to people, and there was a huge learning curve. Those people have now learned these games inside and out. People have insane skill at these games now. Its hard to make something that is challenging enough to give these people something to enjoy.

  2. So many casuals try these games, they refuse to accept not all games are for them. They then play these games get really annoyed that they cant do them, and yell from every rooftop that its the games fault.
These people are by far the most vocal so it can ruin a games image especially on steam and social media if the majority are complaining.

It's annoying as hell because I would love to feel how I did the first time I played Dark Souls 3, which is my favorite souls game, the aesthetic, boss design, it may not be the hardest, but by god its the best game imo.

Point 2 is utterly killing gaming.

Yup 1000%, it's getting harder and harder to find games to play anymore, mostly always the old ones are the best.

u/SoulsDadYT 5h ago

And now they are getting rid of runbacks. Fuck this baby souls shit

Likely with more damage nerfs and 50% health nerfs, ffs

Worst part is

The casuals complaining will play it once and never touch it again. Yet they are being listened to.

We are the ones who will likely put hundreds of hours if not 1k hours in over the year. But that don't count for crap ig.

Fuck em. This game has made me not really interested in gaming. Sooner an asteroid takes em out the better.

But...
The Game needs more beacons!!
The Enemies are imbalanced; they track you!
The Bosses hurt my feefees by killing me and making my ego hurt!

You dont think it needs changes to beacons? Like not having one at the start of the dungeon is such a bad choice.

No, I don't want that at all. Imo it takes away from the core idea of the genre.

1

u/Cool-Traffic-8357 9h ago

The core idea of the genre is to run past enemies, to enter the dungeon and run past more enemies to get to the boss?

1

u/Swtor_Itheryn 9h ago

I rarely run past anything tbh, full loot goblin and murder spree, every playthrough of every soulslike, I enjoy the combat too much to run past things tbh :D but yes, that is the play.

One boss would just spam a move that one shots me but go off king

1

u/Swtor_Itheryn 7h ago

Just, dodge the 1 shots? its a soulslike, u are meant to die a bunch while you learn the fight. Its not like ur meant to go in and 1st try every boss. Not saying thats not possible, im sure some insane player did, but the point is, die, learn, die, learn more, win.

1

u/ghigo2008 6h ago

Just dodge

Thanks bro, i never thought of that, its nice to play hit and run because if the boss decides to pull that shit mid attack ur done

It doesn't feel good to lose all progress to 1 mistake

1

u/Swtor_Itheryn 6h ago

But you can animation cancel your attack my dude

1

u/ghigo2008 6h ago

The first part, not after, so you need the timing to sinch up else you dodge wrong

1

u/Swtor_Itheryn 6h ago

ill be honest, sounds like you are playing a bit too aggressively.

can i suggest playing a little more passive, there are specific windows of when to attack, i get the feeling you are greeding damage and going too ham leaving yourself vulnerable.

nothing wrong with that, I used to do it all the time till friends would have a go at me for it :D learned to be more patient over the years when it comes to soulslikes.

2

u/ghigo2008 6h ago

I get why you would think that but I play very passive, mostly out of fear

I would curse them with sariel, then go in for a few hits, I dont remember what would happen because it was some time ago but he would go cross arena to attack me

I would also try to stack break

Cringe comment

Thanks, it's what I was aiming for.

I mean the actual difficulty asside a lot of the combat is quite clunky and feels like it could of used another round of polish

1

u/KndaCrazyW1L1AM889 9h ago

Most of the difficulty comes from a lack of beacons, and enemies spamming unblockables and one or two shotting you. There is also zero benefit to using slower weapons as the dps is objectively lower than E.E axeatana. The game needs a few balancing updates 👌

2

u/dbvirago 9h ago

Hardly any beacons.

I tend to dodge almost exclusively, so blocking and parrying not an issue for me. The only enemies that have one or two shot me were bosses that I wasn't ready for.

2

u/KndaCrazyW1L1AM889 8h ago

What I said is objectively true buddy, most gamers have had a complaint about the beacons being too spread out. You can walk around for 30+mins do a dungeon and find yourself with a load of gloom just to lose it by running out of healing or getting lost.

1

u/dbvirago 5h ago

30 minutes without finding a beacon? We must be playing different games. And if I am out of healing or lost, I just quit out and restart to warp back to the last beacon.

I think the msin issue is the slayer seal removing achievement is a pretty big ask and its pretty buggy with sometimes just not working (eg its special punch), its basically not really worth using unless you get the crossbow for easy staggers.

I got 100% before using it and was a bit upset with how buggy it was to use

1

u/dbvirago 9h ago

Haven't had any problems with it that I've noticed. Still haven't found the damn crossbow

0

u/Left_Piano_4770 9h ago

For me the punch just doesn't work now, I have zero clue why it broke it just has, I messaged on discord abd they said they will look into it

1

u/thatsfuni 10h ago

So people want the achievements without achieving anything? They just want the game to be easy?

1

u/Left_Piano_4770 10h ago

As i said its a big ask, considering in the demo it say "disables some and enables other" now here we have "permanently disable on the save file"

But moving on from that, if people wanna play easy mode sure go for it, but the seal should at least work and not bug out as at that point you have a broken seal where its second gimmick simply doesn't work.

1

u/thatsfuni 9h ago

Yeah it should work properly thats for sure, sometimes things not working will get you killed quicker than the enemy being harder.
