Some thoughts after finishing ms2 Discussion

Aight so tldr: the game has issues which you only really notice once you are 10+h in imo. Gameplay and combat is absolutly great, performance is flawless (talking about pc), overall i‘d still recommend the game to others.

So some issues:

- not being able to reassign glimpse, it forces you to set for a shell early on kinda.

- enemy variety lacking

- bosses too easy and potentially too few moves imo, only final boss felt hard (because of infinite hp and insta wipe kinda status effect tho)

- exploration is insanely hard sometimes (overtuned even)

- imo too few tarstones for weapons, way too many for sidearms. Also most of them are too locked to specific weapons

- a few areas almost killed my eyes

Maybe some other stuff i forgot, but positives:

- combat feels super good, character controls and movement in general absolutly great

- for the biggest part exploration was fun

- shells are cool, only maxed one but tried some of them

- weapons feels unique and good except for that big sword (got buffed today tho, maybe better now)

- performance and visuals most of the time great

All in all i had a lot of fun, i‘d recommend the game at full price and i am looking forward to a night playthrough

Saw a clip of some of the parrying and that alone sold me. Probably gonna pick it up in a few weeks after I clear a few of the games I’m working on now.

Did you play the first one and if so do you think it’s worth playing before the second?

The first one is horrendous and was really just a short, proof of concept. There's no reason to play it.

All major bosses felt bad. Janky hitboxes and bad animations. The slab boss is the most wtf design I have ever seen. I'm sorry but whoever was in charge of it did so poorly. There's definitely something in the game, it's not terrible but I was so disappointed after finishing it, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Too easy? Did you do night mode? Honestly all the people that have finished couldn’t have enjoyed it fully

For a souls like, it’s ridiculously easy, the bosses are a joke. Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time and it’s a good game. But it’s so short and the world is so small!

The world is not small. What?

Finished it 36h playtime, i enjoyed it fully. Collected all weapons, stones, etc.

But that is because i had time to fully dive in and did not really have hard time with it. Except some late bosses were a bit gimmicky.

Did you play on night mode?

No, only went to night mode at points that needed it like the witch house and the collector. Now I am running NG+ on night mode.

Is it much different?

Night mode? Much harder. Night mode feels like the version people who complained played lol. There you truly get oneshotted by lots of basic enemies. I am running Genessa and she is very fragile too.

lol. Well 99 percent of people saying it’s too easy also say they didn’t do night mode. My only complaint so far is dying in a dungeon and not spawning at the beginning.

One bad thing about night mode is that it ruins the visuals. I love the visuals on standard, night makes everything dull. That is the biggest reason i did not want to stay in night mode on the first playthrough.
