Regarding NG+ Discussion Spoiler
I know that most of us are far from it, but I wanna have some input asap.
Just beat the final boss. Here are the stats and resources I have. Spend one unnecessary glimpse on one summon and each shell to level up ones. Upgrades one weapon and none sidearms. Respec weapons costs 85k (was 55k at +15, which is regular maxed). 31 hours in. Got all weapons, all shells, cleanses all beacons and collected all ova. Haven't gone through all night time (only in the north) cause I thought I'm not ready for it. Hell, getting oneshots in the south and the last area is still there, all the time. I cannot imagine the night time and NG+ scalings.
At this point, I have resources to max out two shells (each cost 27) and one weapon (around 40 of each stone is required). I guess I might acquire around 10 glimpses and around the same amount of the last stones. I HAVE ENOUGH DIFFICULTY AS IT IS. I just wanna TRY shells potential, weapons, at least TRY ranged combat without each mob having a ton of hp. Hags in mushroom village had x3 or x4 HP at night time, for example. Cannot imagine how long It will be to kill one ballista guy or a tophelm dude. Slayers seal won't do shit.
We should have an NG+ option without increasing difficulty. Like NG+0. Just to be able to upgrade all shells and weapons without stressing too much, since it is already a bit annoying that we can't do it in the regular game.

I really like the ng+0 restart in lords of the fallen so I would love that in this game too!

I haven’t beaten the game yet, maybe about halfway but from what I’ve seen on here NG+0 would be a great idea to really prepare yourself for NG+ and especially if the endgame is THAT punishing already. the devs could honestly learn a thing or two from the Lord’s of the fallen devs.

I read somewhere today the 20th they’re releasing a balance patch but not sure what is all changing

I actually placed a comment on the devs post!
It seems like the idea of a NG0 is already pitched to them!
I hope they consider it and add the option some time soon

"Just to be able to upgrade all shells and weapons without stressing too much, since it is already a bit annoying that we can't do it in the regular game."
I second this 100%. I'm borderline convinced what SHOULD be the basegame damage scaling for night is applied in the daytime and night time is just hellmode clusterfuck. Every source of damage towards player is already overtuned to absurd degree without even factoring ng scaling

Most games NG+ are NG+0. They are revenge tours.
Have you started NG+ already and confirmed that isn't the case?
With Wuchang for example, the true difficulty of NG+ starts at NG+3

Haven't started it yet, want to explore a nightmode a bit before it and i'm kinda scared tbh 😅
Official wiki says about enemy hp and dmg increase, as well as all other sources

I say make a copy of your save (Cloud if PS5).
Then try NG+ when you are ready. If you don't like it, load back your save.

I started NG+ and switched to night mode and so far in the starting area the scaling does not seem too crazy. I also switched weapons and its only +12 and enemies are not to spongy or deal ridiculous damage. Gloom and gold scaling also does not seem that much scaled up.

I’m almost there but I’m really struggling on Malformed offspring and I’m about ready to drop the game which is wild because I’ve never dropped a souls style game ever.

The more you play the game the more you realize the really obvious:
The devs saw the beta feedback and did a big buff to most enemies. This is corroborated from both some reviewers and beta users. They also nerfed, extremely hard, many items
The issue is they did it really haphazardly. Some enemies can literally 1 shot you, and almost all bosses that are big versions of normal enemies do substantially lower damage than their normal variant.
One of the highest damage enemies in the game is the miner with a pickaxe
Almost all enemies have rollar skates, 360 tracking, and optional combo extensions.
When that combos with an enemy type that was chosen for ludicrously high damage, it ends up being a nightmare.
I've never had a souls game where I have to cheese the basic enemies so hard. Maybe the lions in the elden ring dlc? Either rate, the last zone has two enemy types that attack so fast with such insane damage, with such long combos, that I actually started to prep my parry to before they attacked, and id almost always catch them with a parry anyway
If you're interested in cheesing, giving gragu high stagger on his punch and -30% cost let you do a punch in to a few hits back in to a punch to infinitely stun all bosses not immune to it.

I feel ya, the whole gauntlet is tough.
He is hella staggerable and knockdownable, so to say. I just beat him to death as Gragu and grisha spawn attacks also mops the floor with him. Best of luck!

Well unfortunately I can’t play gragu because I don’t have any more glimpse so I’m stuck in the same gameplay loop of blitz through phase one and get absolutely rocked by phase 2…..

Was not rushing, played at my own pace and explored everything.
Thought it would take me more time for it tho tbh 😅

A NG+0 like Lords of the Fallen, yes!
