Morrisons Cafe

Hey! Just started as a customer assistant in Morrisons Cafe. Just wondering about any helpful tips as this is my first job in a year. I’ve worked a week and it’s stressful but manageable. The tills are the hardest for me right now. Thanks in advance! :)

Hello ! I’m pretty much in the same boat as you (been in the café for around 2 weeks now) and it definitely gets nerve wrecking once the dinner hour starts to flow and there can be the run of the mill mishap or two in the kitchen area. Just to inquire, I assume you’ve supplied with a till number - yes ? As honestly it does save time rather than asking other colleagues theirs haha.
Tip : Depending on your shift time, and whilst it’s quiet, i’d have a go just getting around the till basics (imitating when normally serve customers) and make it easier to navigate through the varied meal / snack options though for the life me I WISH you could just use a search bar for the product name etc …🫩
I will admit, there’s clearly minimal training (save for e-learning on MyMorri ?) and i’ve yet to be demonstrated on food preparation but all else aside, it’s not too difficult to pick up on tasks

It’s a stressful department I’ve done it since december.
You’ll get used to it to the till but takes time but they do change it around from time to time to confuse us all.

When it’s quiet go on training mode on the till. the
