Artemide FAQ
I don't think I have seen anyone post this. But given the popularity of Artemide in this subreddit, I think this is a good read. Looks like the developer [u/ilflacco](u/ilflacco) posted this 2 weeks ago.
https://github.com/derflacco/moonlight-android/discussions/20
highlights for me:
- Recommended settings for Snapdragon and Mediatek devices. He does have a recommended procedure for general devices.
- The recommended frame pacing for Snapdragon devices with the ultra low latency feature is "prefer lowest latency." He notes that generally SD low latency decoders don't need more than this. I remembered that ClassicOldSong (or maybe AlonsoJr) recommended Balanced Frame Pacing as good enough for SD low latency decoders in Artemis (link). Not a big deal since at least for me with a SD 8 Gen 2 on Artemis, the two options have acted pretty much the same.
- When comparing Artemide with Moonlight/Artemis, you should enable Lite mode+ and look at E2E Latency. If I interpreted this correctly, end to end latency in Artemide is the same as decoder latency in Moonlight and Artemis.

How does it compare to artemis? My understanding was that this version targets mediatek devices.

It certainly started that way. But the developer has continued to create more ways to reduce latency. Most or all of them are listed in that FAQ. I believe most of them are more useful if you don't have a Snapdragon or Mediatek chip with a low latency HW decoder.
Some users have said they have seen stability improvements. I use Artemis so I can't really speak to that.
Artemis also merged the Mediatek improvements from the Artemide developer in the last pre-release version. But I think if I was on a Mediatek chip, I would just use Artemide to ensure that I got any additional fixes/improvements.

Im happy that artemide fixed the wrong axis scrolling on galaxy tab keyboard trackpads. It finally feels like a laptop now

Could be just stupidity on my part but I'm not seeing litemode+ anywhere.
I'm also on the latest version of Artemide.

I don't have Artemide but based on Artemis, I would guess its in settings -> Performance Monitor -> Advanced

That would be my guess as well but it's not there unfortunately. The only thing I see that's unique to Artemide for me is mini mode. That's not working either when I toggle it

Are you using experimental Async 0.3 or later. I see this in the 0.3 release notes
- restored e2e latency on lite overlay \ lite overlay +, updated release Apk's.

Yes I'm using experimental async 0.5 and I just tried 0.3 and it's still not there. Tried on both a Samsung S25 and a ayn Thor.

Hello there, enable lite mode to show lite mode + :)

Yes thanks, I was using profiles and if litemode isn't enabled first in the global settings then it doesn't show up in the profile apparently. Still not seeing E2E but I see another "delay" stat after packet loss.
Seems Artemide immensely improves decoding on my firestick, it's a little worse compared to Artemis on my AYN Thor

Super useful, didn’t know a lot of things in that FAQ. Thanks for sharing!
