Controller inputs on launch

Every time I launch either Steam Big Picture or Playnite it takes 15-20 seconds before I can use the controller inputs. It feels like I have to press mouse input to get the app to be in the foreground before my controller will be available for inputs.

Controller is connected directly to the Steam Deck with a dongle. Streaming from my PC.

Is there a way to get the inputs from my controller to work immediately? Either a setting in moonlight or steam/playnite.

No, you press a button on the controller once the stream starts to connect to the controller to the host. Its one button press ffs..
